I think it would be easier and cheaper if cell phones could automatically switch to wi-fi networks.  Most people spend most of their time near an accessible wi-fi network.  I dont own a cell phone, and probably wont until a feature like this is implemented.

That's cool - I worked for ALU for the last three summers, and they're definitely on the forefront of a lot of telecommunication technologies.

A cell phone cant roam between a cell tower and a wi-fi network with skype though.  Skype is internet phone only (as far as I know).

Well it can in a way - you can use 3G data + wifi to achieve the same effect.
