Tomorrow is the big day for this newbie
    #14159236 - 03/21/11 01:09 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Well everything is ready.  I have 10 jars nice and sterile with BRF.  I have 4 different strains all ordered from Ralphsters for a really good price.  The four I have two pick from are Blue Meanie, Treasure Coast, Mexican Dutch King, and Australian.  I purchased ralphsters choice.  I want to stick to one strain and not mix up the different jars.  For a brand new first time grow is there one of the four that is easier and less likely to develop contams?  One that will have less aborts that I might have trouble identifying at first?  I'm absolutely elated right now and cannot wait for tomorrow.

From what I've read (and done), you should only be using 1/4cc per inoculation hole. So a 10cc syringe will do 10 BRF jars for you. Just pick 1 strain and run with that.

Doesnt really matter which one you start with. If you dont like how that particular one grows then switch to another. Sometimes it varies on the vendor's spores as well.

Cool, man. I'm excited for you. To choose which one to go with first, use the search bar on the site and check out some pictures. Go with the one you think looks the coolest, cause they'll all grow the same.

Or less. Just enough to trickle down the glass.

Do five Treasure Coast, five MDK.

Good idea! mix up the jars with different spores.

Yeah, don't mix them up, keep them sorted. Label with date, strain, any other relevant info.
But using multiple syringes gives you a way to tell if one syringe is bad.
