Suggestion of what i should do with colonized agar

i cloned a tissue on a plate of agar, its not divided into 3 parts its just one agar section, and now its fully colonized out to the edges.
should i take that whole chunk and drop it in a grain jar then G2G that? or should i cut out 5-6 pieces and drop them into grain jars?

one piece per jar is enough. and then grain 2 grain that if you want.
cut out another little piece and put it on a second plate and try to isolate (if not already one strain).
store the rest of the plate in the fridge.

I'd take out several small sections, drop them into half pint or pint grain jars. When those colonize, first make grain lc and then use them as grain 2 grain masters.
Two or three separate wedges cut from one triangle, about the size of a dime total are, or a little larger, per jar. Then seal up the petri in a ziploc bag and refrigerate.
Store the grain lc until you see how the culture fruits. If you like it, a few drops of glc inoculates the grain masters for your next round, and one syringe become a hundred tubs or more.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't use it to inoculate grains. If you're cloning, you should only let the mycelium grow out 1" or so maximum before grabbing a tiny piece of mycelium from the leading edge of the growth, and transfer it to a new plate. This ensures you've isolated away from molds or bacteria that were left on the original tissue.
You can take a tiny piece now and transfer to a fresh dish, but I'd repeat the above once more before going to grains. RR

I took a plate of an oyster isolate, one wedge went to an LC, one wedge went to a grain master, and the last wedge went to several slants. That is of course when the mycelium was only about an inch out. I now have 25 4-pound spawn bags, 15 spawn jars, and a ton of master grain/lc. Utilize your mycelium to maximize its biological efficiency.
