you could probably compost in a regular five gallon bucket but it would probably work better to drill holes around the bucket so it can drain/breathe and simply roll it around every once in a while. if you have any significant amount of waste to be composted it might be better to use a garbage can but most compost bins are pretty simple.
worm bins are another option and work faster yielding good castings.
here's a link from google lolhttp://www.ehow.com/how_5579913_compost-5_gallon-bucket.html

Thank you maiko, but I have already read that link and 100 others. I plan on using a 5gal bucket but I want to attach it to a frame and somehow attach poles from the frame to the bucket, about 2/3ds up from the bottom of the bucket so that I can just set it on a table outside and flip it on its axis to mix it. I have a bad back and rolling it on the ground sounds like it would be painful and a contam vacuum. I was looking for a specific parts list for the brackets that attached the tubing from the bucket to the frame that allowed it to spin upside down 360 degrees. I will go to the hardware store to see what type of brackets they have and maybe modify two of them to attach to the bucket and the poles that run to the frame, the frame will be easy, it's just attaching a round pole to the bucket is the problem. I might just run the pole all the way through the bucket if I cant find some other way to attach a tube to both sides of bucket.
I really appreciate the time you took to try to help though.
Maybe I could get two flat brackets and hammer them into a curve until they fit, like a bracket for fence poles. I will update this into a tek if I can figure something cheap and easy to make.

I want to make a banana peel, Hpoo, straw, pinch of blood meal, pinch of lime, and other organics compost(fruits vegetables) so that I can grow some mushrooms like the ones in this link...

Going to replace my FC pic with a rough drawing of my com-poster idea. Might take me a few.

get 4 non-rotating casters (like this: http://bit.ly/dVg44F) and mount them to a flat surface (or frame), and then set the bucket on top and give it a spin.

Compost is one part of the story, agar is the other part. You'll need to isolate some genetics.
