I think calling the american forces that in this particular situation was called for. Its not like they even studied there laws or the complex political nature of the tribes and there culture before there forces gallivanted in there and fucked everything up beyond repair.

Looks like it wont be long until US troops are on the ground in Libya, preceded by numerous air raids i'm sure.

I am not too educated on Libya or Moammar Gadhafi, but if he is as bad as the media is reporting then maybe we have an obligation to help.

However, whenever I think of situations like these, I like to think how the US Gov't would act in the face of several thousand attempting revolt

Wanted to share this link I saw at CNN's website; gives a brief overview of the situation in each of the countries that are currently at unrest, civil war, or whatever you want to call it

That must have been before the CNN coverage showing massive holes in the
ground where bombs landed near reporters.

The US and Canada are moving battleships in, and I hear the Libyans are
starting to ask about air strikes from NATO.  They would need to bring in US
air craft carriers to do the no fly zone thing, so I'm sure those are
starting to move.

crimes against humanity.

We're on the move. Another war we get to be a part of

Hopefully it stimulates our economy. I dont understand why everyone is soo freaked about oil prices. We get very little oil from Libya, hardly enough to affect our overall supply I would think.

It will definitely fuck with the EU though

And what will happen to the EU? They'll need to get more oil from other sources. Sources we also use.

Unless your also going to take over the economy and privatize everything into the hands of your corporations I dont think its going to be helping your economy. At all. All its going to do is add a few hundred billion more to your deficit every couple of days.

Gadaffi's hired goons have been using anti-aircraft guns on the crowds...

Warning: graphic.

I don't doubt it at all, but I don't really trust liveleak, either.

It does look very real to me, however, and is entirely plausible.

What was that post-holocaust slogan? Never again?

If they were using anti tank guns on humans they would be ripped in half and blown to bits, those look like wounds a .50 cal machine gun would inflict.

It's not our dirty work. It's what apparently most nations want, including other Arab nations. France was the one who was the most anxious to get involved.

I have pretty mixed feelings about the states getting involved...

I mean, on one hand, they need to stop sticking their nose in everyone elses shit.. but at the same time, when a madman starts bombing his own people, it may very well be time to step in...
