    #1415440 - 03/27/03 09:33 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I spawned a clothes basket full of straw with popcorn ( Pl. djamor] last night, and a couple of kernals fell out on my desk.

Tonight they're hard a s a fucking rock.

Do other grains dry out this fast?

Hi, I'm drunk

i pc'd mine for 1hr to push water into them and they still seemed harder than i expected. they didnt squash REALLY easily in my fingers but did squash with a lil force.

next on my list is to soak some 30mins, some 1hr, some for 24hrs and pc'd all of them to maximise hydration and see which is the optimum so i dont get loads of split corn.

1) Place p/corn in a pot & bring to a boil, then turn off heat
2) Let them soak for 24 hours.
3) Bring to a slow boil for 1 hour.
4) Pour off ALL the water, drain well & allow to cool to room temp.
5) Jar up as you would rye or WBS & PC @ 15lbs 60 to 90 minutes.

I followed all the steps up to pc. It's cool if I do that in the morning right?

can you add water if they seem to dry? A friend has growth, but its going very slow. Someone else added that it could be because the grain is dry. The corn is still swelled and not dry to the point of hard. ?? I confuse myself sometimes..

thanks for the help!

Ya, its cool to wait, possibly even better to let any endospores germinate. I dont give em a chance and roast the @#$% out of em.
