I don't know if this actually a new spill or a resurfaced plume from last years spill. Either way it's apparently 12 X 100 miles. Here

Holy balls it really is the Apocalypse.
Did they ever fix that damn thing? I wonder if they just half ass fixed it and it's been leaking out faster and faster over the winter.

I remember reading somewhere that they may have compromised the integrity of the seafloor when they drilled the horizon well

Yes that is a possibility. Because from what I understand they had to drill all of these other holes in trying to find the right spot for the rig.

I was just thinking about reading that before. There has been some crazy shit going down lately. I'm not one of those end of the world guys, but lets make a list to see the insanity around us:
Solar storms
Earthquakes
Tsunamis
Floods
Oil spill in the gulf
Oddly an increase of UFO sightings (Fakes the lot of em?)
War in how many countries now?
Climate change
Economy down
Unemployment up
Birds all over found dead (Was this believably explained?)
Millions of fish dieing in places (Is this normal?)
Anyone got any thing else the world is dealing with?

There's always been at least one reason to believe the world was ending in each time period, no?

Oil spill in the gulf -Nothing new since the development of offshore drilling
Oddly an increase of UFO sightings (Fakes the lot of em?) -Probably nothing new

Probably mass extinction. It's happened many times before, except this time it is due to the over development of one species.
We live in unique times definitely, but they aren't necessarily all that different...

I never understood what the "end of the world" is supposed to mean anyway... End of humans? End of life? Spontaneous combustion of Earth? End of the Universe? It's kind of an arbitrary concept if you think about it.

End of humans I think. Which is, effectively the end of "our conscious world".

I don't know either. But, oil leaks are pretty common in the Gulf. Weather it is a result of the BP oil spill might be difficult to determine. But much the oil in the Gulf is a result of drilling.
My advice...
Stop driving...

Its not only cars thos its everything. Plastic. Toothpaste. You name it.
How about stop spending billions on war and start spending billions on coming up with ways to get renewable energy.

einstein said absolutely nothing about honey bees but loads of people claim he did
he was a physicist, not an entomologist, and there's hundreds of other species that provide pollination, man just isnt breeding them because they dont provide honey
