pinning on the bottom of the cakes?

I have the BRF cakes and they are finally starting to pin, but they are pinning on the bottom of the cake... like underneath it, why is that happening? Would it be okay to just flip them over or leave them be?

Don't flip them... They pin on the bottom because the atmosphere around the bottom of the cake is better than else where...
Do you have pics of your FC? They would help us figure out whats going on...

I'm actually getting a lot of pins, more than my first time since I made some changes (taped top holes, moved into middle of room, lighter misting/fanning, added perilite) Seems to be going pretty well... Just thought it was weird a lot of pins are under the cakes, anyway here's a pic...

if you lay the hygrometer direct on the perlite it wont show you the correct humidity. Place it on a fliped jar/glass so that it is at least 2 inches higher then the perlite. I think you got a low humidity problem in your SGFC.

yea taping holes isn't a good idea, a lot of people think taping holes autimatically makes it more humid but really it needs the holes and air exchange for water to evaporate off the perlite and create humidity.

And IMO it is also important that you always make sure, the perlite is "permeable to air". Get it loose again, after you packed it down.(like moving the box, cakes or just heavy misting) And you have to mist the perlite too, not just only the cakes have to be hydrated, by misting.
There is a huge amount of holes on all 6 sides, as far as i can see.
Did you tried, to place the hygrometer higher?
What does it show, @ 2" above the perlite?

I was told to tape up some of the top holes because I had too many. The perilite is probably as loose as possible and I have been just indirectly lightly misting it and fanning it a few times a day.
As far as the hygrometer, I placed it on top of a jar and you were right the humidity has gone down to like 80%.

its normal. happened to me also. Its because the moisture of the cake goes towards the bottom. You can put verm on top of cake with a lil water to improve moisture on the top.
