it's cool bro. what we are doing is called critical thinking. i know those sound like two really big words that might scare the shit out of you but for some of us we actually try to pay attention to what the fuck is actually being said by our government.
but hey man, why don't you crack open another cold one and turn on Fox News. One mans disaster is another mans entertainment, right?
sorry. i forgot only people against having a large military did critical thinking. and i forgot that everyone who doesnt mind having a large military watches fox news and drinks beer all day.
but i will agree with the "one mans disaster being one mans entertainment" comment. ever heard "vicarious" by tool? if not, you should. and if it isnt your type of music, you should at least read the lyrics.
we all feel the same, so why cant we just admit it?

We need a large military. We need to be the guys no one fucks with. Why can't people realize that they live the lives they do because of Americas ability to defend itself so well?
Give war a chance.

SamuelLJackson said: its unique because we can shit all over every other country when it comes to military power.
have you ever been inside of a large military base and seen the shit we have there? now imagine it doubled, because half of the stuff that is normally at each base is out on duty or patrol somewhere in the world.
i dont mind it at all. i could walk around a naval base all day and just be stupified at how huge the ships are, how many planes fit on one aircraft carrier, or how technologically advanced submarines are. its fascinating shit. and its powerful shit too.
not to mention the special forces of each branch of military. those are some skilled fuckers, and they put in a lot of work behind the scenes that never gets mentioned in the news.
we are one of the countries that has nuclear weapons and can force other countries to NOT have them. we wouldnt even have to physically send people out to the other countries if we wanted, but unfortunately that is deemed immoral for some reason. so instead we spend assloads on manned ships/planes/vehicles/weapons and go there to do the dirty work by hand.
war is a part of life, as can be seen not only in the present, but in the past all the way back as far as recorded history goes. even animals fight each other for mates and territory, and for some reason people tend to think theyre pure and free of the 'immorality' that humans express.
its comforting to know that i can live here and never have to experience what we do to other countries. would you like it if all the sudden america was being attacked from all directions and there was nothing we could do about it? i dont think so. i would rather be top dog than be the top dogs bitch.

Hey, as long as we are talking about Obama and Gadaffi, can someone explain this to me?
From Gaddafi:
"To our son, his excellency, Mr Barack Hussein Obama. I have said to you before, that even if Libya and the United States of America enter into a war, god forbid, you will always remain a son. Your picture will not be changed."

The real extent of this state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day.” -- Thomas Jefferson The greatest sin of mankind is ignorance. The press takes [Trump] literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally. --Salena Zeto (9/23/16)

gerryjarcia said: So i was watching the news a minute ago and Obama was speaking from Brazil about the situation in Libya. When Obama talked about Americas involvement in the conflict (we just started bombing Libya for those of you not following the news) he used the phrase "unique capabilities" when discussing why we are involving ourselves in the Libyan conflict.
Did anyone else notice this phrasing? I'm guessing that by "unique capabilities" he is referring to our massive military industrial complex that has helped to bankrupt America over the last 30 years.
I'm not sure what is so "unique" about squandering our valuable resources on bombs, tanks, bullets, drones, and other machines of war.
Anyone else fuckin' despise newspeak?
My point exactly. From a strategic and financial standpoint, either the USA should deduce the military or take over the world. They seem to do neither.
But the military isn't shit compared to Medical and Medicare. Those cost rates are exponential, with no end in sight. =( If it is anything like the housing boom and crash, soon we will just have no medical federal programs.

i don't know enough about deadhearts to take that comment in an offensive way. i know i'm playing into the stereotypes here but it's hard not to when you bring up the arguments you do.
i mean come on Sam, can't you at least give me an original thought on the whole military industrial complex being a great thing? you're only parroting words spoken a million times before.
you're starting to sound like Limbaugh, don't do this to yourself.

history does show us that economies boom right after war.
this could be the idea behind all this.

War is not boosting our economy. War have been at war for years.
The money that comes back from war stays at the top. Greed all the way.
