i recently incubated some 1/2 pint brf jars and have placed them in a 18 quart sealed container. i placed the cointaner in my closets top shelf and am using a small space heater to keep the temp at 82 deg. . the thing is with the dry heat my hydro meter is showwing that the humidity is extremely low.. .. i am new to this and was wondering will the jars in the container retain enough moisture to colonize properly or should i supplement some somehow..any and all advice will be welcome.

Leave them alone.. 82 is asking for contamination.. turn off the heat and let them colonize between 65 and 75..

take them out of the sealed container they need gas exchange. also the the individual jar use the water you initially mixed in you don't need to add more or keep them in a humid environment.

also not quite sure what your trying to do. are you letting the jars colonize or are you fruiting cakes or are you trying to colonize bulk substrate?

70-75 F is ideal for colonization and fruiting, IMO.

I think you're a little ahead of yourself. It's good that you have a hygrometer, but you don't need it yet. Colonizing is the easy part. You just put them on a shelf and wait it out. Humidity outside of the jars has a negligible effect on colonizing times, as does the heater.
The hygrometer will be needed in your fruiting chamber after you birth and dunk your cakes.
They should be fine in the container. I'm guessing it's the large tupperware container you're going to fruit them in, and it's not airtight. I'm also guessing you have them in their so noone (your parents) don't find them.
For now, turn the heater off, crack the lid. and I guess it's just the waiting game... then....
