Setting: A sunny day, still winter cold; When I got to the park the grassy fields were moist and spongy from snow melting and rainy days. There were lots of people, cyclists, and dog walkers - some dressed liked Flash and Green Lantern???
One guy had a modern kite going with two controls. His activity in a baseball diamond area seemed to keep the traffic clear so I was attracted to the kite flying space, otherwise, cyclists and dog walkers and ball hockey people were the norm: The pathways were too busy, and park benches too moist or obvious (I don't like to be too obvious while smoking).
I pulled out the salvia joint that I had rolled last year(, or earlier). and fired it up while marveling at the swooping kite, and how the guy was making it fly around - keepint it aloft for several minutes at a time - he was easily re-launching it too when it stopped on the ground with a mere flick of the cables, none of that "running and letting out string" like when I was a kid...
I stubbed out my salvia joint when it was half smoked, (4 big drags in) and began my walk home, I had had enough, the wind shifted, and my body sensations were all smearing together.
I stayed on the spongy grass instead of the paths with the bikes and people, and I kept my eyes down - it was a bit like an M.C. Escher interlocked pattern - all the sunny day impressions and noises were funneling at me and mixing together with the grassy mud - even the kite was flapping and flying muddily at me, all I could do was keep walking, step after step through the divots of spongy mud grass, towards and through the testosterone chaos of ball hockey racket hitting the side boards, a swoosh flapping kite at very high speed, cars, dogs, and me on my refuge path cut from space-time through mud & grass and uphill all the way.
the impressions were folded all together with inarticulate thoughts driving me on home.
half an hour later I feel great, it's quiet again.
sunny days can be so oppressive, especially so if there are fluffy white clouds in a bright blue sky. i could have stayed home and smoked on the porch.

yes! I don't understand it
I can see the appeal of smoking salvia in public and even dong it in a lightly oppressive milieu like the one you experienced yesterday it is rewarding when you return home
funny how salvia seems to turn solid thoughts into gas dmt seems to induce articulation of thoughts for me

Fun experience, thanks for writing it redgreen .
I've smoked a J of salvia leaf in a park as well. Actually we smoked one in the car while in a traffic jam later too.
