Hi! So i've been growing mushrooms for a few months now. Anyways i started a new batch recently... I did the whole Jars thing. Got those finished and then mixed the mycellium and the coir poop mixture together. I have a whole bin full of mycellium no contams. temps at about 74 degrees and i put on light on it so it could start growing. I've had the light on for about a week and a half now maybe 2 weeks. i have no contams or anything but i dont have any mushrooms growth yet. Not even seeing any pins. Ill post a picture soon. any ideas what could be wrong?

Moisture loss/evaporation from the substrate and copious amounts of fresh air will be your two biggest pinning triggers.

Possible problem 1: Did you let he mycelium colonize your substrate? Because if you just mixed the mycelium from your jars in with your substrate and started fruiting conditions you won't see anything happen.
Possible problem 2: Assuming you did let it colonize, how long did you let it colonize for? It is possible you have overlay which are preventing pins from forming
Try brining your tempurate down a little more, I've had great success with fruiting temps between 68-74 F.

Thanks! I let my bin colonize until my substrate was covered in mycellium, Then my partner wanted to put more substrate over it to "prevent contams" saying the mushrooms will grow through it when I thought it was completely fine without another layer of substrate, since ive did it before and it worked out fine. Do you think that could be the problem?
Also i turned down my temp. Im gonna give it a few more days and do a few different things and see if i see anything. Thanks for the help guys!

you basicly added another nutritional layer on top of fully colonized mycelium, you shouldn't have done that..now you need to wait until thats fully colonized ( if it doesnt contam) before fruiting.

yeah... Bio is right, Your friend was thinking about a casing layer, which isn't supposed to have nutrients in it. just strait verm works fine for a casing layer, but if you use additional substrate, you are giving the myc more food.
