I did the pf tek with a cambodian and B+ strain. Inoculated on 3/2. I have one jar though that isn't in the picture that doesn't seem like its growing at all it just has one spot of myc. I don't know if its contamed or what.

you'll get that one out of the batch that doesn't colonize/colonize well. could be a number of things it will usually end up in file 13.

This one is isolated from the others, but no signs of contams don't really know what to think.
In this picture is it bad that the dry verm layer is falling down the sides?

Nope, that happens. As the cake shrinks and consolidates sometimes the verm will wiggle down the sides, especially if you keep handling them.
Best tip ever for BRF cake jars: touch them as little as possible. The more you disturb the verm filter, the higher your chances of failure.

You can't really determine when they'll be done. It's all in the genetics. make sure you let them sit a week longer after they're fully colonized and your flush will be great man.

When you start out with multispore it is always a good idea to take into consideration the jar's showing the quickest growth and then fruiting them on their own. Then you can nominate the best pinset for cloning from the tissue and use that for when you're ready for grains.
Just a suggestion

Why fruit them by themselves? Yeah Ive been keeping tabs on the fast colonizers I have quite a few that have been pretty quick. I had a couple rye grains too, but they contamed. Going to try again have some rye that will be done soaking at 12

Planning on doing 7 cakes and putting the others in some small casing trays. All of them will go in my fruiting chamber. Not to sure what kind of casing I want to do yet though

i would make like 3 small casings withem...done right it will increase your yield.
some people have decent success with cakes, but in my time with them, ive noticed they dry out quick and produce smaller fruits in general than casings
not saying its impossible to have great success with cakes, but ide case, keeps moisture content up.

I'm planning on using these for my casings. I still want to have some cakes just for the experience, but how many cakes should i crumble in each one?

Offtopic but I love your signature man. How many times have we seen that from that point of view.

ive used the skinny ones on the right.
when i did it, i crumbled up 3 cakes in each.
What size jars are those though? I think i had half pint but they were taller than those.
either way, 3 half pints per small casing i used. worked out well. or you could try doing like 6 crumbled into that big tray.

They are half pints, but they aren't the tallest half pints. Yeah I'll probably just use the skinny trays and put three cakes in one and two in the other.
