I really need to take a step back and chill out on the weed intake lol. Its just so hard to do sometimes. When I get home from work I just want to smoke and chill out but I have so much to do after work. I know its all mental but what have you guys done to help make the process easier??

i have absolutely no experience with quitting pot. but i have friends that went cold turkey. most of them accomplished this by trading in their smoking habits for more productive activities (working out, learning a hobby, etc.).

I've been thinking about cutting back as well.
If nothing else, I'll at least save some money

I planned on going on a break recently and I couldn't even do it.
Admittedly I wasn't fully gone on the idea but I had been at one point. Once you're fully gone on the idea it should be fine.

i think it's good to able to relax... in any way way one would see fit.. if you feel like you smoke to much weed then just tone it down maybe? try not smoking when you don't need relax and see how that works out, too?

I've done it several times, usually involuntarily, but I've never regretted it. I love weed, and it's a good thing, but sometimes it's good to take a break.

Just find something to go do. Don't sit around because then you will want to smoke.
Keep yourself busy man.

I have a very difficult time when I try to quit. Everybody says to find something to do but unlike most people I'm more productive and motivated when I'm stoned. I never get stoned and just sit on the couch like a blob. I like to smoke and DO shit; workout, play my bass guitar, clean house, grocery shop. I can't just sit around when I smoke but when I'm sober all I wanna do is sleep.

well, for the record, i believe he did say that he wants to relax after work, hence the weed "habit"; or "cycle" if you will.

Yes, work just suck the life outta me. And I just want to relax. Its all in the mind like I said before. When I walk in the door from work I need to get right back to "work" and quit bitching.
But for now the weed is in the way.

work more on some stuff that interests you and if weed is getting in the way and you don't WANT to relax then... no question... do that.

I tried to stop quite a few times over the years and could never seem to for longer then a month, possibly two at the very most before I started up a daily habit again.
It's been about 3 or 4 months now since I smoked, and have been totally sober since the start of the year. I did it by meditating, for one it gave me kind of a natural high, and two it allowed me to be more in control of myself - now I don't just automatically give into desires and whims but see them for they are and let them pass.
I would suggest writing down why you want to quit and the benefits you will gain from doing so, and put in a place where you will see it and read it once or more a day, keeping it in mind. Also do something to fill the space that will be left which smoking fills for you. Whatever it is, do something you enjoy.
