cobweb in gh.....
    #14138428 - 03/17/11 06:26 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

So the temp raised today and I came home to cobwebs.... I have several trays that will be ready by Sunday and is like some advised preparations to help in the future. These cakes are nearly spent so I think ill toss them. I'm maintaining 80-85% humidity with little in the gh. I've been wiping the floor every other day due to slight sitting water..... not much however.  Trying to get this right by Sunday  id cry if my 14 12qt trays got cobweb lol.

I thought cobweb was commonly the result of high moisture levels? Interesting to read it can happen even when humidity is hovering in the 80 range. H202 will vaporize Dactylium, but it's also pretty hard on healthy mycelium, so use it with discretion. Best of luck.

How often should I fan the gh? I've been doing it twice a day. Been leaving a window open a couple hours a day in the nearest room.

Fan enough that you don't have standing water.

Do you still have cobweb??

If so hit that shit with straight H202. Not too much tho.
And yes make sure that thing is getting fresh air. Cobweb
comes when the air is not being circulated.

Next time do not mix with water. Just straight H202. All you will do by using the
mix is knock the cobweb down.

So with that said keep an eye out for the cobweb to come back but make sure air
is being circulated. You should be fine....

A side note...

I have noticed then when I get cobweb I personally only get it during the
incubation of my tubs when I cover them with a garbage bag. When you get cobweb
there is a certain smell that comes along with it. Not a bad smell but a smell.

After I hit that shit with H202 its smells like mushrooms again
