Advice for best first time experience?
    #14137467 - 03/17/11 03:54 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Hi all. This experience has been a long time coming and I'm hoping to get the best out of it I can. I've been a cannabis smoker for about 5 years and I've had a single psilocybin truffle experience in Amsterdam. Other than that I'm a psychedelic virgin. Which plan should I go with? Any changes you'd make?

I will be tripping alone on 2g dried, with my wife at home. I have 2 dogs... are they going to affect me negatively? Should I not eat for a few hours, eat the shrooms and then have a nice healthy meal? Phones will be off. Computer will be thrown out the window

Here are my 2 plans...

Nighttime: Lay outside and look at the stars. Maybe make a small fire and gaze at it (haven't done that since I was a young bloke). Music or no music? Dogs or no dogs? It's too cold to stay outside for hours. Maybe should I then watch a documentary? Maybe look through old photos? Make love to my wife.

Daytime: Lay in my courtyard surrounded by trees and a sunny sky (if it doesn't rain). Set up a canvas and some paints. I'm very interested to see what artistic inspiration I can harness from the mushroom. Do some gardening in the backyard. Make love to my wife... twice :cool:

Are Rockband style xbox games a good thing while tripping? I am curious to know how good I would be on the drumkit playing The Beatles Rockband

I'm very interested to hear your tips and ideas

eat em then just go with it.

one thing thats fun is to just lay things you think you might like to see around the house where you will see them. finding something cool while triping is the BEST! so just lay a bunch of toys out then just wander around

Thanks mate. I sorta felt I may be over-analysing the whole thing. Just go with it

The Beatles: Rockband is pretty amazing while tripping. Though I didn't try it on my first trip, since it was about 2 or 3 years before the game came out. But still, I love playing it. Especially the song "Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Know" That song is real deep while tripping. And the on screen visuals make it that much better.

I would advise against dogs. They have always made me uncomfortable while tripping. Probably because of how unpredictable they are.

ive found the "plans" just go out the window for me... but one of the best times ive had is when my nephews left all of their toys laying on the ground in the basement. i was wandering around the house and found them and had an awesome time. that picture idea you had is good, i would put them on the table where you can see them and will find them

Haha cool, so Rockband is in, dogs are out. I love my dogs but have always been a tad precautious cos you really don't ever know what they are thinking.

I've got a child so there will be toys everywhere lol.

I just ordered some paintings from Threyda, they should be fun to look at.

Here's one of them (minus the advertising )...

This has to be one of the most incredible paintings I've ever seen.

i love animals while tripping. im convinced that the way animals experience life is like a very intense trip 24/7. i havent tripped much around dogs, but they never bothered me. ive tripped around my cat a lot, and i can say that hes the most chill soul to have around while tripping.

but i would agree with what has been said already. plans go out the window when i trip. one time i was intent on taking a nature walk through a park and when i got there shit just went all wrong (as things sometimes do while tripping ) and i ended up going to a friends house instead and ended up watching The Jersey Shore for 3 hours.

its a surprisingly entertaining show while tripping. you would be surprised.

...but yea, just go with the flow. ride your vibe to the top and dont let any preconceived plans or notions get in your way. just dont go over the top and walk around talking to strangers or any odd stuff like that.

MadMusher, the painting is at www.Threyda.com. The website was down a moment ago, seems to be back up. INCREDIBLE artwork at this site.

For anyone interested, here's my first trip experience from last night.

I ate about 1.7g dried. I didn't know what to expect so I thought I'd go with a low dose.

I started off laying down in my backyard, looking at the trees and sky, connecting with the Earth. I had my dogs with me and they were a great source of positive non-judgmental energy. I laughed like I haven't laughed since I was a kid. I guess as you grow older life gets more serious and it's hard just to let go and laugh about dumb shit. I spilt a cup of water... then grabbed a wet mop to wipe it up .

I felt somewhat like the Universe has it's own sense of humour and loved to make clowns out of us humans, teach us that life isn't to be taken so seriously. Almost like a friend that always has your back no matter what. The energy felt amazing. I remember seeing the sunlight come in through the windows and just feeling inspired by life. I had the realisation of how much positive energy effects your core being in a very real way, as does negative energy.

I went and talked to my herb plants for a bit. I felt like they were telling me they are ok with being grown in a cupboard but I truly wished I could just put them outside to enjoy the Sun's natural light. One day my friends... one day

...

Things went a little downhill after this. I'm a fairly stressed and emotional guy sometimes [no emo] so when I was with my wife and baby, changing her nappy, bub started to cry. I felt like negative vibes were creeping in, maybe because of my child being sad. It had been a fairly tiring day so I laid down on the bed. The next minute my wife was waking me up freaking out. She said I had my back arched off the bed and she freaked and contemplated calling the ambulance....eeeek!

Once I was awake, I felt really hot and started to take off my clothes. My wife suggested I have a shower but I just didn't want to... dunno why, just didn't feel like it. The thought crept into my mind, what if I had died? The weird thing is, I felt like it wouldn't have even mattered. Life is eternal. We are part of something greater than our physical presence. Something that we've blocked out of our lives even though deep down we know it. I almost feel like we've been taught to be scared of death but deep inside we know it's not to be feared.

After that negative experience, our baby was put to bed and my wife and I went into our computer room. I felt disconnected to my wife and just felt like I wanted to re-connect. We have a good relationship but I guess sometimes it's hard to just be yourself and let go, even around someone you've known and loved for 7 years. I had the urge just to be 100% honest about everything I could think of. I could tell my ranting was getting on her nerves but I just feel I had to let it all out.

Questions were cascading through my mind like a waterfall. I felt like I could be anyone and do anything in this life. Artificial boundries were lifted. I didn't want to paint, listen to music or play video games, just ponder questions about the nature of reality. Time meant nothing and felt like just something we grasp on to. Salvador Dali's melting clocks came to mind.

...

Sorry for the long rant. I've got more on my mind but it's hard to put into words without typing for ages. All up, I'd say it was an 80% positive experience with a 20% negative thrown in.

Things I learnt...

- Positive energy is essential
- Learn to let go and just flow with it
- Do it with someone next time instead of tripping alone
- It feels so much better to be a positive non-judgmental person
- The vibe from nature and the Universe is incredible

I suggest trying to clear your schedule... so no one is expecting anything of you... Including child care, wife issues, etc. I think it's difficult to be with people who are not tripping... So you probably are right... With someone tripping or totally alone...

Have to keep in mind you are altered while tripping, but you will return.

Sounds like it was good...

Thanks mate. Yeah I read that it's hard to trip around non-tripping people but I felt almost magnetically drawn to my wife. I think it may have been because she is my anchor, my safety net.

Next time will be with a mate who is really positive and easy going. I expect it'll be better.
