Pan ant,s, an indicator?

I went for a walk in around my paddoks and i found soooooo many p ant"s growing from allmost every cowpatty. Could this mean their are possably cubensis ans copes around? Im inland nsw, in auhtum, still hot though, its the first time iv ever seen ants at my place, is it the season for them?

Well, I believe they are all tropical species which grow from cow pats, so it sounds like you could be in luck, possibly, if your climate is warm and humid enough.

Yes very warm and humid, would nearby damns and rivers help with humidity? Or is that crazy talk?
So yeah they seem to be popping up ever since the there has been starting to get cold mornings, still with hot days

Its good to have three nights consistently at 80 degrees farenheit and alot of rain to boot.

yes they are a good indicator species... altough usually the antillarums start popping before copelandias and cubensis do... usually they grow in this order

first antillarums, then copelandia abundance, then cubensis abundance

I have heaps of fog in the morning, but the days are still realy hot, which. Could helP with humidity
