Caught with a lot of lsd, mali, and weed

Okay everyone i've been reading on these forums for awhile but I am now just making my first post because I have some questions.
About a month ago I was charged with Trafficking in LSD for possession of 2 sheets when the fuzz raided my apartment. They also found half a gram of mali and 25 grams of some super dank cali bud. ( I live nowhere near cali mind you im on the east coast) The reason i was raided was because an EX friend of mine became an informant and took some L and mali back to the police after i gave it to him, so i was charged with 3x sales to an undercover sch 1. I know I am in deep shit, but it is my first offense and I am only 18. I got a good attorney but there is only so much we can do to combat this. I was not read my miranda rights within the first 30 min of being arrested until I was taken to the station where they questioned me and tried to get me to snitch. I have cut back on the weed smoking but have done it bout 5 times since I quit a month ago, all in the past week and it was low grade, not like the golden keif hash and Medical buds i used to smoke from cali so i am thinking i can get clean quick. Do i have to worry about being drug tested? It is not currently a fed case but i am worried it might be. Should i be worried about them reading my email, facebook, etc.? not my profile but the messages i send people, which i have been doing since they took my phone. And for anyone that has been caught like i have or knows anyone, what do you think I might be able to expect? any and all advice is appreciated

You need to get clean and stop using or possessing drugs for awhile. You might be alright now, but you're going to be on probation for at least a couple years and that shit will not fly. If I were in your shoes I would enroll in drug and alcohol counseling ASAP. You want to create the impression that you had a drug problem and getting into this trouble led you to see the errors of your ways, and now you are willing to do whatever is necessary to remedy the situation and live a straight life. In the court's eyes, this means taking responsibility for your actions and playing their game by the book. It sucks, truly, but you might end up better off because of it. You just have to swallow your pride and do it; trying to be a rebel once your already in the system will just sink you ever deeper into its maws; I've seen it many times.
As far as legal ramifications go, it is impossible to predict what you're going to end up with. I'm guessing at least a month in jail, but I would also get yourself used to the idea of spending six months to a year in jail, just in case you catch an unsympathetic judge or your case goes to hell for some reason. You may get off without any lockup because this is your first offense, though I doubt that because those 'freebies' generally do not apply to delivery charges. Besides likely incarceration, you'll get 1-5 years of probation, drug and alcohol counseling (get it over with now!), community service, fines, and enough stress to last a lifetime.
Hopefully through all of this you will learn that selling drugs is simply not worth it. You're risking your personal freedom for chump change with every transaction. Let some other fool take that risk.
One thing I would fight hard for is making sure that whatever you plead to can be expunged. All of the other consequences are ultimately trivial compared to having a felony on your record for life, especially if you have any sort of professional ambitions. I reckon you'll have a chance to come out of this intact: seize that opportunity and do not fuck it up. Even though most of this will suck, keep your head up and don't be afraid of the system. It will all pass, but you have to be patient and dedicated to getting out of it. That should be your number one priority right now. Let the experience make you a stronger person.
Oh, and the cops don't have to read you Miranda rights unless, and not until, they begin questioning you.

If I were you I'd have a friend say you are suicidal, spent the night in a mental facility (they can get you out at your will, when you "feel" better). Like the dude said above, enroll in drug treatment and see some psychiatrists at the local clinic. Try to get an official diagnosis. Tip, read up on bipolar disorder, panic disorder, those are good ones.
With the combination of those two you are much better off then just as a criminal. You have mental issues and drug issues. Your a victim of disease, not a drug dealer. They have drug treatment courts.
At the same time, I'd be tempted to go to Cananda, assume an entirely new identity and leave the USA forever. What your facing most likely means prison time and personally, I'd rather die then go. After my experiences with jail, I'd rather die then spend time in jail too.
And to the poster above, we need some people to distribute drugs. Without them, their would be no drugs available. Dude, sorry you got popped but thank you for your contribution to society. Hopefully you enlightened more then one person which makes this bullshit worthwhile.
Going insane is free. Mental facilities are free. Might seem extreme to you, but their has to be a benefit to being crazy. Honestly you could even go as far as suing the police, invalidating your entire case because you are loco. Even if you are stupid enough to tell everything to the police you can say you were nuts at that point in time and the evidence in inadmissible. Insane / Disabled people have rights.
Just because you had drugs doesn't mean you sold them? The fact your friend led you on (which isn't right) you could say he was the one that did everything and he is lying, since he is already screwed not you. Since he snitched on you, you might as well take advantage of him; since he is no longer your friend. The police can't convict you on 1 person doing something, that doesn't mean your a drug dealer. Your just an addict.
Paint the picture man. Believe in yourself. Stand up for yourself and be smarter then those stupid assholes. Know that jail sucks to the point I'd rather die then go. Use that wisdom to do everything in your power to not want to go. Go crazy, be logical, be insane and don't make matters worse for yourself. You didn't do anything wrong, did you? You didn't rape a child or sell drugs to a baby right? You didn't do anything wrong man, your just a fucking junkie crazy mental disorder case.
Have fun man. With the right lawyer that is house arrest or some sober living environment.

Jail isn't that bad. If you run from it you're always going to be looking over your shoulder, and that's no way to live. Granted if you're looking at several years it becomes a different story. But for what the OP is likely facing you'd have to be pretty weak not to be able to do the time.

Bottom line-
Your attorney will scare you early on into thinking you'll do time so you'll give him more money. Just go with it, give him what you can afford and I GURANTEE with your age and those offenses you'll get nothing worse then probation. If you had 50 grand, you could get those charges reduced/dropped.
Better luck in the future. Better to learn off small incidents so you can be more careful in the future.

What are the Federal Penalties for LSD Sale and Possession? Like most illicit drugs, LSD use is typically not prosecuted in the federal criminal system. More common prosecutions are for the manufacture and trafficking of the drug. Because LSD is mostly manufactured domestically, there are considerable penalties for the trafficking of LSD. Following are some examples of federal sentencing for LSD: Trafficking 1-9 grams mixture (one dose is roughly .5g): First Offense Not less than 5 yrs, and not more than 40 yrs. If death or serious injury results, not less than 20 years or more than life. Fine not to exceed $2 million. Second Offense Not less than 10 yrs, and not more than life. If death or serious injury results, life imprisonment. Fine not to exceed $4 million Trafficking 10 grams or more mixture: First Offense Not less than 10 yrs, and not more than life in prison. If death or serious injury results, life imprisonment. Fine not to exceed $4 million. Second Offense Not less than 20 yrs, and not more than life. If death or serious injury results, life imprisonment. Fine of not more than $8 million. More than Two Prior Offenses: Life in Prison

Grok has it on the money. I've been in that boat over 15 years ago, wish I knew about the explunging thing at the time. But I got 6 mo county, 200 hrs STS, 600 fine and 25 yrs probation, but off in 6-7. Still have the Felony record though. Get a good lawyer and get in treatment.
Good Luck Brother.
