I have a vendetta against the United States of America drug policy, the D.A.R.E program, the social issues it causes in lower class society and the amount of people incarcerated due to drug use. I'm still doing research, but it seems that California models the Netherlands drug policy in some ways. Specifically increased drug treatment for drug abusers of hard drugs and decriminalization of drugs for personal use. I live in California, so I know first hand the legal system in much more detail then Amsterdam. It seems because so many societies resist drugs that the Netherlands had to reverse prior legalization of all drugs, because of drug tourism.
In order to combat the popularity of the general population, much psychological precision must be used to slowly manipulate the mass population into legalization of drugs. My specific strategy is to legalize Cannabis in California, which has a domino effect across the United States of America; forcing legalization by the US Government. Next up on the list is medical testing and legalization for medical use of possibly all illegal drugs. Eventually as more nations model the United States and Netherlands, the entire world will accept this policy and we can move to the more responsible model of pure legalization such as the Netherlands already had with much success.
Two objectives are achieved by this strategy. First Cannabis is a safer alternative to alcohol, and also has the side benefit of creating the counter culture movement which is predominately anti government. This is wonderful as the Government of the United States is corrupt and predominately evil in my personal opinion. If drugs are medical, anyone who consumes them has a legal defense in court for their personal use. This is the short term objective for the prize at the end of the road.
This is a good 10-20+ year plan folks. I don't wouldn't expect it to happen any sooner. States like California in specific are Nazi's against drugs like psychedelic mushrooms and ecstasy. The fear that children die is what allows archaic laws to be passed in this State. The original 3 strikes law also was very inhuman which is ironic considering their limited use of the Death Penalty.
Honestly while I see the inherent danger of a few people dying from Ecstasy, alcohol causes far more damage. Ecstasy deaths are primarily linked to A some idiot taking too much, B some idiot taking too much water or C someone who has pre existing medical conditions. I'm sure someone who died from Ecstasy is just as likely to die from Heroin, Cocaine, Crystal Meth. Regardless eventually less people try or use drugs from legalization as already proved in the Netherlands.
The main goal is to actually dramatically reduce the use of drugs specifically in children. I'm positive that if children were educated about drugs in a different manner then the current strategy by the Federal Government would be much more effective. I'm not going to go into how D.A.R.E increases drug use and was specifically designed to increase drug use amongst the population. You can write the LEAP Law Enforcement Against Prohibition director yourself or read what he wrote me below.
"Regarding the DARE program, which many knew would be a bust from day one, it's another money generator designed to spread fear based propaganda with little or no truth."
I'll extend that to the childhood psychology model. Telling children as an external authority figure NO, directly makes children more interested in the doing what was told not too. Or read some German children's story books, which are all based on fear. Children aren't stupid, obviously the USA has manipulated over protective parents; which is a horrid strategy for raising children btw.
I'm aware the World is still growing up and things like War occasionally need to happen; but honestly the USA didn't have any help from many others when we fought for out independence from Britain; I don't see why the USA is the baby sitter to the world; oh because some asshole makes money off that. Honestly I'm pretty tired of the bullshit that occurs in this country, the fact that everyone deny's reality, but honestly I don't really care now.
The plan I've outlaid will be successful. I'll contribute as much as I can in the future to make sure it happens. Personally I'd like more kids to go into the field of science, so that we actually have new technology, end oil dependence, end nuclear power, and much more. An a personal fuck you to the US government for advertising drugs to me at age 7! Over my fucking dead body will my children have you advertise fucking drugs to them like you did to me.

I largely agree with this.
However, I don't think that you need to "manipulate" people into thinking drugs should be legalized... because the fact of the matter is that drug prohibition is noticeably worse for society than any drugs itself could ever be.
Contrary to what many people think, too, it's actually quite easy to explain why this fact is so to MOST people as long as you don't come off as a smug jerk or respond with anger and obvious frustration.
