if you freeze them in a covered glass jar i imagine they could be kept indefinately.
I dried mine till they were crisp dry, then put them into plastic (glass is better as it has no BPA 100%) containers with a screw lid, put some desiccant to keep the moisture out, they can last for many years like that.

I decided not to do anything fancy. Im drying the bulk of mine, then I will store in a glass, air tight jar like you say.
I reckon when Ive had trouble with decreased potency before, its probably been coz of storing them in a paper bag rather than something air tight.
See how we go.

I don't know - I would have thought that storing them in the dark would be good for mould?

Sunlight destroys all vitamins, herbs, medicine and powders. This is why it's good to purchase all meds in dark or completely covered non transparent glass or plastic.
If there is no moisture present (make sure they are crisp dry and use desiccant) then there will never be any mould.

as xthrax said, buy a dehydrator, set it as low as it can go, mine goes to 30C and they are cracker dry in under 8 hours... Then powder them and store in a glass jar. Once powdered and in a jar o2 can only get at the top most layer. They will remain active for many years.

You can make your own desiccant chamber by getting a large tupperware storage container, some wire mesh to sit near the top of the tupperware container and a bunch of damprid in the bottom. Just be sure to check that the damprid doesn't completely cake over on the top layer (give the container a side to side shake to loosen it up). I lost a good batch when I first used this and the damprid caked over and stopped absorbing anymore moisture. It really sucked to throw mouldy shrooms out.

Yeah I think Im gonna pay a visit to the shore...but theres a few people that reckon west owns as well, just not as much as the shore...Just a complaint, everywhere Ive checked(west) has been mistreated quite badly...I saw just today lots of trodden on pins, they would have been great shrooms, and also just general destruction of the habitat =( come on guys if any of you are reading this, please treat the areas you look in nicely or it ruins it for everyone...psilocybe mushrooms are a privelege(I mean come on they're even free to those who look hard enough!)...and fungi in general are fascinating, so lets look after them =D and the environment in general. Well heres my find for today(I know I picked some too small but everywhere is so bare! =S)....not much but a good amount for one plus a top up...took 50mins-ish of searching a local park....how many of these should I eat? Because Im still relatively new to all this, but i heard that some smaller ones tend to be stronger...should I adjust my dose accordingly?

Oh and they weigh 31.1grams wet if that helps...what level trip for a 2nd timer would that give(I dont want to be stuck in another world, I like to walk outside and look at the night lights lol)...I took about 20-ish grams wet, give or take 2grams, the 1st time and it was quite strong but no proper OEV's...but some cool CEV's...
