Angels
    #14133015 - 03/16/11 07:22 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

The basic meaning of angel is messenger.

If you read spiritual texts it seems very plausible that angels are really entheogenic plants.

Also, in that Ancient Aliens/Astronauts show, whenever they try to compare spiritual events to alien event it seems most like psychedelic drug induced events to me.

In the first time angels where described, they were not peaceful, but instead beings who wanted to "take over", but after that the angels became messengers of god.

Sounds a lot like the scary come up on a psychedelic drug, when you are fighting for power of your mind, until you give up to the experience and receive the message.

Discuss!

I wouldn't be so quick to rule out the possibility of the existence of Etheric beings that have been given various titles.

They exist.

Do you mean the first time they were described in the Bible?(Genesis 6)
Cause I didn't see anything about them taking over, just some divine fucking  :doggystyle:

But seriously though, even if entheogenic plants are angels (Fun fact: Ganja is a Goddess in Hinduism), I dont think they are limited to these plants/drugs.  It's like you said, the Hebrew word for angel (malik) translates literally to messanger, so imo angels can get their message to us through entheogens, psychedelics, spiritual books, visions, dreams, or even that guy you met at the bar. I guess i'm just sayin that even if entheogens are angels, I don't think angels are limited to entheogens.

Hope that made sense  :bigjoint:

i think this 'etheric' thang is the spirit within the plant, not the plant itself

and if u associate urself with a certain plant and ingest them thangs, and really get connected with them thangs. then thangs will be doin

like all thangs have spirits, and they all do their thangs

Rather than within the plant I feel that there is literally a 'door of perception' that these molecular keys open.  The psyche is structured to keep material organized and has been separated from the chaos of the spiritual realm or subconscious or the collective unconsciousness.  However, it exists within you NOW.  As if we are born of it.  These beings populate the human collective imagination and they are just beyond a fragile boundary within your own experience.

Its really not that difficult to grasp the concept...

I fear the psychic separatism that modern culture depends on and people have come to know as 'normal' is a dangerous hoax and mostly illusory.

We are connected.  And we share.

"spiritual people" aren't the only ones that use the term.

http://csmt.uchicago.edu/glossary2004/collectiveconsciousness.htm

and I agree FishOil. I think the plants themselves are even manifestations of the mind, and that all these angels etc. are just archetypes in our mind, it's all inside of us.

That doesn't mean they aren't real. After all, what is 'real' anyway?

It's hilarious how spiritual people say "you just can't grasp the concept" when people disagree with what they're saying. :pope:

It's not just about modern culture, it's about how humans perceive their reality; some people like to imagine that there's some sort of inexplicable psychic connection between all people, and others do not imagine this.

The term collective consciousness refers to the condition of the subject within the whole of society, and how any given individual comes to view herself as a part of any given group. The term has specifically been used by social theorists/psychoanalysts like Durkheim, Althusser, and Jung to explicate how an autonomous individual comes to identify with a larger group/structure.

They're not using the term in a spiritual way, or in any way suggesting that we're all connected "spiritually".

Yes they are; psychologists who use the term have evidence to vouch for it, spiritual people do not. Since they do not have evidence, and come up with all kinds of "collective" phenomenon regardless, they are obsessed.

This collective unconscious does not develop individually but is inherited. It consists of pre-existent forms, the archetypes, which can only become conscious secondarily and which give definite form to certain psychic contents.”

So what does it mean?

My study lends credence to the theory that psilocybin inspired voices are expressions of the Logos. Beyond that, what the Logos is, well, that depends on how "Eastern" your world view is. That is, when people ask me what I think these voices may be, whether part of us or not, I have to first ask them what the mean by "us." The question of what is self and what is other then takes prominence. Is there anything that we can say is truly alien? Though in our experiences we may encounter a "Wholly Other," from an Eastern perspective (or in the ancient West, a Plato-Plotinian one) all of the Cosmos is interior to us. Can it be said that there are boundaries to the human psyche? Psilocybin voice experiences force us to confront our notions of a personal self and a universal Self.
