Im not exactly sure why your fruits are pretty small?? But, have you ever tried spawning to pasteurized hpoo/straw? I also use a dash of lime (optional). Whats your spawn/sub ratio? Did you case? Im only on my 4th bulk grow so Im no expert. I have never had a problem with small fruits tho. Cheers. Good luck!

Where did you get the spores from?

Id be happy with fruits of that size

I have three ideas.

One: I am not sure what the nutrient content of coco coir is, but if it is low, you may want to switch the substrate that you are spawning into.  Or it is possible that the depth of your bulk substrate is simply too shallow.

Two: Moisture content (as mentioned) is enormously important for the size of your fruits.

Three (and the least likely, IMO): The strain that you are using may effect their size, but with multispore, it seems unlikely.

If you need me to go into more depth on any of these areas, I may be able to help.  I know that you mentioned that you have tried some of the things listed above, but you may need to scale up the amount of change that you are inducing for the individual variables listed in your post.

IME, the two major contributors to size (or lack thereof) are moisture and nutrient content/availability.

Get some hpoo going in there.
I cant see your coir being the problem.

Yeah, I meant the nutrient content of coco coir in general, not a specific strain/brand/etc.  I believe that there is a Shroomery Vendor that deals with compost, High Sierra SomethingOrOther.  Some tags you can search for are organic, horse, manure, compost, fertilizer.  Shipping can probably get kind of expensive.  I wouldn't really know though, there is an abundance of the stuff around here.

I completely understand wanting to stick with works, and I wholeheartedly encourage you to do just that.  I'm just saying that it's possible that the particular strain that you are working with is the problem.  You could head to the marketplace or a vendor and try trading for/buying a Z-Strain from a different source as a last resort.  I would suggest trying to fortify the recipes that you are already using as a first attempt.  You can stick with coir, but I would suggest that you may want to mix in another source of nutrients into your bulk.  Formulations that cater to all/most of the mycelia's nutritive needs (as well as the various other conditions that encourage vigorous growth) will boost performance substantially.  Also make sure that you're at the proper moisture levels throughout the whole cropping process.

But those are just my thoughts.  I think it's best to get second opinions and search out as much pertinent information as you can, on your own, or maybe someone else will chime in and suggest another route that would be more to your liking.  Either way, I wish you the best of luck and let me know if you could use any more advice.

FOAF grows pretty much same parameters as you (except WBS as spawn, bulk is pretty much same minus gypsum), Hes Growing Z-strain, His fruits are very long with medium sized caps

Substrate depth is not a factor, as its been preached over and over by RR even a very thin sub depth can grow massive shrooms off it, Its all in the moisture content.

Generally I would conclude this type of growth is being caused by not enough FAE but you say you give plenty so I would have to say genetics and nothing you can really do but roll the dice with another MS attempt or do some isolates and test those.

Even though those are not small they are quite beefy, The yield does not look that bad with those fat stems.

- FOAF is no means a master but a big lurker.

Hmmm. may be more environmental? Were there substantially more pins  than with the larger?

has nothing to do with type of coir used, unless you used the chunks

unless you used an isolate then the results will vary each time..

i've grown monster fruits, and tiny fruits from the same exact substrate prepped exactly the same way...

I've also had tiny mushrooms first flush and monsters on 2nd, and vice versa..
