The word 'Trippy'

I can't stand that word. Whenever some one uses it to describe something it makes them look like a fool.
Mark Twain said something along the lines of you can judge a man based on the adjectives he uses. Stop calling everything trippy, its annoying.

I can see where you're coming from, although occasionally "trippy" is the best way to describe something.
I have more of a problem with the word "sick" I don't know about elsewhere, but in Colorado everything is "fuckin' sick brah". It's so irritating.

My first username here, way back in the day, was like, trippyhippy420.
That username was so full of fail it's not even funny.

Any username with 420 in it is an immediate failboat. Glad to see you pulled through.

Some slang just pisses me off, haha. New Jersey slang especially.
I agree that some things are definitely trippy, but lets face it: many people abuse the word.

If something is trippy it should be called trippy. Don't see the big deal here. Do the words "man" and "bro" annoy you too? Every culture has slang.
Your artwork is very trippy btw.

To whom it may concern:
It has recently been brought to our attention that you find the word "trippy" to be annoying. While we sympathize with your point of view, we also feel it necessary to point out that the good folks of the internet, and in particular a website dealing with hallucinogenic mushrooms, should be free to us any adjectives they see fit to describe things. Be it a scenario, emotion, scenery, an object or any other thing they are currently experiencing and trying to convey to the group of people they are currently speaking to (literally or figuratively.)
In the future, please feel free to mentally change the word "trippy" to any other adjective of your liking of which you feel more comfortable or impressed with. That way you won't feel the need to belittle people simply because they use a word with which you hold in such disdain.
I hope our solution will be satisfactory, and if we don't hear back from you we will consider this case resolved.
Sincerely, The Management

'man' and 'bro' address somebody, they aren't adjectives so they dont annoy me, no.
When slang annoys me: Some people use slang to look cool and when they aren't used to the slang they are using it makes them look stupid because they are trying to adopt a word that doesn't belong to them.

One time on acid a friend and I decided that we would never use the word "gnarly" in a real sentence. At the time it just sounded so silly as a word. Maybe if it was the 70's and we lived in California surfing waves on a daily basis.
But at the same time who gives a fuck.

Different words for different stages. People start tripping and use it to describe phenomena that's strange.
As you age, trippy becomes a less frequently used word. It's much more socially acceptable to use words like interesting, or even more descriptive words that can impart a more specific idea of what you're talking about (describing phenomnena for instance, phenomenologically: noting characteristics, describing shape and smell, related thoughts, etc.)
Who gives a fuck brah? You *were* that kid at one point, I'd imagine.
I still use the word; sparingly however.

Can we agree that is is obvious when some one is using a word versus trying to use a word?
The word 'bro' must be said with confidence, otherwise is doesnt work, if you skimp out on calling some one your brother, you should abandon the word. The word 'man' can be used by most people because it has so many contexts, and can carries no connotation of family.
Can we just talk about this? I'm not hating on anyone necesarilly, I just think it is dumb when people use words they dont know how to use.
Aphex Twin videos are trippy, the pattern on the back of a car seat is repetitive, not trippy, stop using words that blanket things that actually mean things. It annoys me.
I appologize.

What would you prefer people use instead? "Psychedelic, man." "Far out." ???
I disagree that a car seat isn't trippy. Anything can be trippy depending in your current mental state. One time I was eating a pancake that was for sure trippy. It was giving me all kinds of weird vibes.

This made me LOL. I've had similar experiences, but not with food.

Heres my opinion.
If you call a pancake trippy, you are stripping the person you are telling it to of any way to respond to what you say. I would much rather you just describe the experience you have with the pancake. Was it melting in your mouth? Was there something about the pancake that made you think in thought loops? Did it behave differently than other pancakes?
By the way, go to Allgood. We need more like you
