Hey so I looked at my best jar (about 1/2 colonized) today and there seems to be a yellowish patch of growth starting. It looks almost like sulfur. I read something about this being normal but i dont know. I will post pictures later today but do you guys have any ideas as to what it could be?

Subject: help the new girl, plz?

hi
I just read a post about how there are no green molds that will hurt a human, and i have a few questions on this. I am attempting my very first grow ever, its been 4 days and in my jars my mycelium looks to have a tint of green, but i may have to wait a few days to tell for sure. My question is : since you said the green mold wont hurt us, will I be ok to take spore prints from my mushrooms to start a new generation, or will my spore prints be doomed with green mold in them if i let them fruit? Id really really hate to have to re buy my spores again online when i could just get my own from my own fruits ( and have a darker syringe if homemade )Plz, if there is anything i can do please tell me, ive been reading and researching like crazy, but the fact is im still just a newbie. Are my cakes worthless if they have green mold on them, or are people just being over hyper ?
Thank you thank you in advance for any help.
~ minnow

if you see green mold toss it, that stuff can contaminate your house making it impossible to grow.

The one and only answer is: Toss contams on sight!
Dont try to fight it, it will lead into a situation where you wont be able to grow successfully anymore.
Buy a new print and start over.

Metabolites are brown, Trich is green.
If you see some green it is lost.
