mushoom tea

I'm planning on shrooming this weekend, I took a break from doing it as much as I did (almost every weekend) and it's been a couple months, the reason mainly being because I really dislike the taste of shrooms. and I've heard shroom tea doesn't nearly as bad... first of all, is this true? also how do you make this tea? you can link me to another forum explaining if you'd like. but also what are some of your own methods? and how is it potency wise?

There are many mushroom tea recipies, just type "mushroom tea" in the search of the forums on this site and you will get many recipes. Also at the homepage under general info I think.
Basically just boil water, then steep the water in tea and mushrooms, presto.
And yes, it tastes much better, just like musty tea. You can even use coffee. It hits you faster but doesn't last as long.

Powderise your shrooms (if dry) or chop them up (if fresh - better fresh), put them in your tea strainer along with some of your favourite tea / tea like beverage leaves.
Add boiling water.
Drink.
I find the whole thing far more ritualistic and a preferable method. I love a good ol' mushroom tea evening! It's my favourite of methods, probably because I'm a big fan of tea, and tea drinking can easily be turned into something ceremonious, which is always a nice touch to a trip.
Good luck! I'm hoping to be drinking some mushrooms tea fairly soon too... mmmm

This is my preferred method of ingestion. The how to was already answered by those above me, and all I am here to say is that mushroom tea will not do you wrong!
The only downside is having a belly full of hot liquid whilst feeling an onset rather rapidly....that does not brood well with me from time to time.

Oh yes, good point... mushroom tea often gives me an over abundance of the "Have I peed myself?" and the come-up queasies... but I've never vomitted, and it quickly turns from an anxiousy-full tummy feeling to.. tripping. No anxiety, because it was purely physical.

Simple, delicious and nice it is! I'd steep for around 10 minutes or so.. better to steep mushrooms for longer - perhaps wait for a little bit before adding tea, or you'll get strong tasting tea! But, that may BE your cup of tea...
I'd say around 10 minutes is probably good steeping time - cutting up the mushrooms is the main thing, you want small bits so every little bit of delicious psychedelic can be juiced of its goodness!

I can attest that making shroom tea is much more desirable for me than eating them. Any time I have tried to eat about 3.5 grams or more I always end up throwing up but I have never thrown up once after drinking tea. I really enjoy drinking it in tea, it kicks in much faster. I haven't tried eating them in a long time though, maybe I'll give it another shot next time.
EDIT: Also one time I just boiled some shrooms and water and made koolaid and let it cool. That was fun

I always used apple cider instead of tea, as I definitely am not a tea person at all, and it tastes really good. The downside is I can no longer enjoy just a cup of plain apple cider, as now my mind associates it with tripping my balls off, so I get anxious just by the smell of it.
I'd usually make two epic doses in one batch, pour one into a cup, then throw the rest of the liquid and the soggy fruit bodies into a water bottle and throw it in the fridge for later use. I always liked to think that lettin the mush soak in the brew for that extra week gave it a little kick

Ha! That's a crazy idea, haven't heard that one. Do you know how much pilocin is lost by freezing it, if any, and how long they'd last?

oh and also, how long should I boil the water, and at what temperature? and i don't boil the water WITH the shrooms in it am I correct? I just boil water, put tea and ground up shrooms in tea strainer pour water in the strainer and let it sit? sorry about all the questions but I'm planning on doing this this weekend.

What I've done, and it worked very well: 1) Simmer (subboiling) mushrooms in water for about 40 min. 2) Chill resulting tea (removed the mushrooms) for a couple hours in frige 3) Squeeze in about 1/4 to 3/4 of a fresh lemon (depending upon how much you are making) 4) let sit about 15 to 20 min 5) drink, and hold on to your butt, it's going to get wild fast
You may also wanna eat some fruit shortly after drinking your tea. Just to keep your blood sugars in order.

My recipe:
ingredient: loose leaf green tea fresh ginger honey lemon
Preparation:
Grind/chop up your mushrooms into very tiny little bits. Peel and dice up the fresh ginger (pro-tip: use the edge of a spoon to peel the ginger )
Directions:
1) Measure out volume of water that you want to drink (remember, more water equals more musty tea to gulp down. Just use a coffee mug full...)
2) Bring this water to a rolling boil.
3) Sqeeze your lemon into the water.
4) turn off the heat
5) throw in your mushrooms and long leaf green tea and your diced ginger.
6) Cover the pot and allow to cool down for up to an hour while the mushrooms steep and let all their alkaloids into the water.
7) Strain out the stuff, add a few drops of honey and enjoy!
The lemon juice brings the pH of the water up to increase efficiency of the extraction. Plus it tastes good.
The ginger will settle your stomach and prevent nausea. Plus it tastes good.
The honey... well, it tastes good!
Remember, you won't be able to extract all the goodies out of the shrooms into the water, so if you want a full 3.5g trip, maybe put 4g into the tea.
DO NOT BOIL! Too much heat will degrade the psilocybin. Bring the water to a boil, TURN THE HEAT OFF, and THEN put in the shrooms. Just let them steep until the water isn't hot anymore.

Fun fact: Boiling water is always the same temperature 100 degrees C (with minor variation due to altitude).
