Can't Think Straight

I used to be so articulate and able to speak/write well, but for the last few months everything has just been terrible. I feel like my vocabulary has been split in half, and I can't converse with anybody. I suffer from severe depression and social anxiety, and lately both of those have been at their worst. Does anybody know what I can do to help this? Herbs, supplements, diet plan, anything.
I do exercise frequently, despite my lack of energy and motivation. I also occasionally vaporize cannabis, but only a few times a week..it's the only thing that really helps with my depression.
I really just don't want this scatterbrained feeling to last, I'm extremely scared that it will. I appreciate the help in advance, Shroomery!

You can probably start going out more and doing public speeches to build your charisma.
Also, i don't think drugs can help you 'think straight'. I can't walk or think straight with alcohol.

Huh, I feel the same way quite often. I have never been very articulate, but I am very smart. Sometimes I just can't access my thoughts. It is kinda like there is some sort of wall between my consciousness and my brain/memory. Sound familiar?
I don't see how weed would help this. Most weed smokers I know admit they are a little scatterbrained because of it. And I never heard of weed as an antidepressant, but then again what can't it do. Ya know what I mean
It could be a bunch of things; being tired, distracted, inebriated. There is a very good chance that your depression has something to do with it. Many people who have depression also complain of being unfocused. Some even think they have ADHD, but really it is just a symptom of depression. Additionally, anxiety and depression are basically the same thing and they are treated the similarly.
What you do about it is up to you. I will get flamed on this forum for suggesting pharmaceuticals, but I take'em. 100mgs sertraline daily (zoloft). It helps with depression, but the side effects make it almost not worth it.
I don't smoke weed, but I am seriously considering trying to build a tolerance to it. At this point it just makes me paranoid, twitchy, and hallucinate...

Smoking weed daily significantly reduced my ability to "think straight." I'm not sure if this is the cause of your problem but every symptom you've described came with frequently smoking, and goes away when I take breaks. The goods outweigh the bads for me though .
Your diet might have some influence on this, I'm not sure how your eating habits are but this might be something to reevaluate. As far as supplements go, I've already said on another post on this board that every single person will have a different supplement regimen that works for them but the same won't work for someone else; there's no consistency. But I'll tell you what I take, take it or leave it. Daily I take omega-3 fatty acids in the form of fish oil, which some research has shown to enhance cognative function and overall well-being. I also take a daily multi-vitamin since my diet isn't quite healthy enough to get all of the nutrients I need from meals. Last I take vitamin D, especially during winter months when I don't get much sunlight exposure. Vitamin D deficiency has been loosely linked to depression and reduced immune functions as well as several other health issues. Do some thorough research from reputable sources rather than advice from individuals like myself, or at least take all advice with a grain of salt.
Last, I've heard a lot of cognative benefits from taking nootropics such as piracetam and aniracetam. I haven't been able to give it a try myself, and again this works for some people but not others. There is a lot of information on these available online, and might be worth a shot. Some people proclaim them as a miracle for focus and mental clarity, others don't notice a single difference. Might be worth a try.
