Found these beauties and many more after a warm rainy day and a thick overnight fog up here in QLD, AU. Could only imagine what they would look like in the moonlight

looks like an Amanita to me, but that's a total guess just based on that pic
any trees nearby?

Those look like pan antillarums to me. I see them all the time. The black on top of the caps is probably spores.

Thanks, but I wasn't asking for an ID. the photo may not do your perception justice. there are often a variety of different pan. species growing close by. i usually have a pretty good eye when it comes to identifying the copes. these were very obviously blue. especially after being in my bag for a few hours. I'm used to seeing Antillarums and Foeniseciis around the place.

yeah could be. some other possibilities (IMO) could be A. francheti (hard to see the veil) or A. gemmata

I think it is Amanita section Amanita, but sect. Validae is also possible.

Those are Pan Ant's, have you eaten the Ant's yet? I'm sure you felt nothing,lol. Hopeful thinking is the blue your seeing.
