Try telling that to the bankers.
you can say that about the banks in the US 'cause it's true
Yup it's true, but we're too lazy to mount any protest fiercer than stealing intellectual property.
I'm all for theft of intellectual property as long as that involves stealing peoples brains so I can keep the zombies in my basement fed

so basically you have a vast majority of the population paying less than a third of what it should be paying to support public works projects.
apparently it's not public projects that they'd be supporting, it's welfare recipients and that's why the rioting is going on, the government stopped giving out free money to lazy bums

i haven't kept up with what's going on, but they riot over everything. this is just another reason to add to the long list. bottom line is that civilization at this point requires capital to run, and the greeks don't seem to be generating enough of it for that to happen. i can assure you that the welfare system there is not the root of all of this.

what point are they proving to their government? i'm by no means an expert, and as i mentioned before i have no prejudice against the greeks. but i did live there, and from what i saw this complete and total lack of desire to generate revenue is the precise reason why their economy is circling the drain. if i'm not mistaken they are almost completely dependent on the eu to keep themselves afloat. they're mostly pissed because now they're hip deep in national debt, they gotta face reality and get to work, and they'd rather riot than do that because they know their government will cave to them.
tell me, if i owned a store here that was open less than 30 hours a week, the majority of which were when everyone else is working, how well do you think my business would do? take that and apply it to virtually every business in greece, aside from restaurants and coffee shops, and compound that with the fact that hardly anyone pays what they should be paying tax wise and it's not hard to figure out what's really going on.

I am by no means an expert either. But from what I gathered the people where pissed that certain people or groups, whatever were not being asked to pay for certain things. So the people said fuck you to everything.
Sounds about right if you are dealing with a corrupt GOV.
But like I said thats just what I gathered and I am no expert.

why?
Because things break, and they need work to fix. Also, you need to work to actually build something to begin with. If you sit around and drink coffee, you wont fix or create any plumbing or electrical infrastructure.
How do you think plumbing and electricity got to be?
that was a 2 part question. and im not buying that answer, what im doing for money now is not working, doing things to ensure me and those i love can live safely and have food is work. the things we pay people to do in this world are retarded and trick people into thinking theyve accumulated actual wealth.i cannot stand getting paid with ideas.

don't bother mons, this concept is well out of hand enough, so that people will never see a way out of the bag.
