last night i awoke in the middle of the night. i thought about projecting out of body and this seemed to happen. i felt no exit sensations from what i remember, but i felt a body outside my own and i could sense it separate from the other in bed. i had no vision in this body though, i just saw darkness. but i did somersaults and types of flips in the air and could relate this separate from the body in bed, which i was also aware of and could also sort of be back in or just sense so strongly apart from this separate body.
i think i may have just been falling asleep and was experiencing interesting things because of this. i don't think i was out of body, but i felt myself sort of reconnect then or i at least thought about it and wondered why i'd have any recollection of what happened if i hadn't actually reconnected with my body.
because from what i've read your projected body needs to reintegrate with your physical body from which it separated. now i'm not completely clear on this, mainly because it just seems so far out. i understand the projection body to be an energetic copy of your physical, and for memories to be downloaded or uploaded for recollection and memory after your projection is over, the projected body had to finish by "coming back into" the physical body. say what?
i just cannot quite get this right now. i've felt sleep paralysis before, attempting to fall asleep conscious for lucid dreaming, but i've never had waking paralysis. all the times i've begun with sleep paralysis, i thought it was just that, my body entering an rem stage and my body going into paralysis because of it. but now i'm reading that this paralysis phase, or just the phase when you experience very strong energetic sensations, like that similar to sleeping paralysis or the entering of, is actually when your projectable double is exiting your body. and the waking paralysis, which i've never experienced that i can remember, is due to your projectable double still being out of your body and until it returns, you will remain in full paralysis or a very heavily sedated state.
the reintegration of shadow memories, the term the author is using, i cannot exactly grasp. i'm going to go back and read through the highlighted sections earlier in the book about this, but i'm wondering if anyone has any experience with reintegrating a projected body with their source/physical body and the process by which the memories from the projection are transferred back into the actual physical mind.
from what i'm understanding i may have had dozens or even hundreds of obexeriences, but without my projected double returning to my body, i will have remembered none of them. but if the astral body is just a copy of your physical, wouldn't my source mind always be aware of and remember the projection, since the copy body really is nothing separate from the physical and all actual thinking and projection happens in the physical brain? i mean the secondary body is separate and may actually leave, but, ahh, i don't quite get it!

i read journeys out of body last summer. astral dynamics, written by robert bruce, is what i'm reading now and gaining these questions from.
i'm basically just confused about body reintegration after the projection has taken place. he makes it sound like we're all projecting, but without knowing how to "come back in your body", you will not remember it ever happened.
