Or strap explosives to them and get them to run into poverty stricken areas and blow everything up?

are you kidding? runners are the worst kinds of people on earth.

sharing with hitler the ideal of ubermenchen,
they aspire for physical purity and perfection.
years of rigorous training and discipline has instilled in them an overt coldness to anyone they see as physically inferior.

you can find them patrolling the streets sometimes in packs and sometimes alone, but always in the same uniform with nike insignia, impeccable posture and calves.

you can see them in ordinary gatherings as well, usually with that unhealthy glow of arrogance and a vacant look in their eyes as if they are looking inward rather than outward and cannot see outside themself.

it is only a matter of time before their final strike.

they did away with the smokers. forcing them onto the streets. refusing to allow them into buildings with them. putting cancer in their cigarettes and killing them off one by one by what could otherwise be described as 'poisonous gas'.

the facts are all there. the obese are next.

the disabled are sure to follow.

we have heard this whole story before.

so this thread was started because your lazy and jealous of the runners body. the obese are costing health systems millions of dollars every year but you think rather than them getting some exercise its ok for them to put more weight on and cost you and me more money? money that could be used for worthwhile disease research.

you hate charity runners or runners in general but love the obese people that are taking money from research for diseases that people get through no fault of their own and if the research for these got more money there would be no need for charity runs.

you're argument is completely flawed

People do all sorts of things to raise money for charity, it is not necessarily instead of giving your own money (assuming you have any to give!) but encouraging others to do so as well.

Okay, so you have established that you think this particular means is ridiculous, and arbitrary, so what?

I could name any number of things I personally think are stupid...but is that really the crux of your post?

 um...

i guess what i find so insidious about this practice is that the greatest of intentions pure seflessness, is used to cloak blatant selfishness and self indulgence.

generally speaking (from my experience) the charity in no way reflects the persons life outlook. it usually seems just a 'surface' concern. usually they will forget this charity within a week. it is a cover for them to feel important or motivate themselves to do something...

these people are more than likely to turn up for their 'rights for indian workers' run decked out in nike shoes, socks, shorts, shirts, sweat bands and... hats.

then they ask ME to sponsor THEM.

its the LEAST i can do...

I dont want to sponsor YOU for charity.
I dont want to fuel your self serving quest for meaning and a trimmer waist line.

I want to give to charity.
& I would like a full return of self importance for my investment, thanks.

yeh he must be, see how he left out answering to my point? less fat people and smokers (i smoke) there would be more money going to research these diseases that people can't stop and would be no need for charity runs.

I think he does have a point though...

He arguing against using arbitrary focus points for getting people to donate to a charity.

So basically people are giving the guy money because he is doing something simple like run. They are not actually giving money because they genuinely want to help starving kids in the USA.

Is this what you're getting at?

but thats bullshit, i do one charity event every year "walk for the cure" a type 1 diabetes charity. i raise money from people that otherwise wouldn't give money to this charity and it means something to me as i have type 1 diabetes. without it my friends would never donate to this charity.

everything I have said is ABSOLUTELY real!

runners are virus on this planet. if they aren’t stopped now they will just keep on going. further and further. faster and faster. they are stealing your jobs, health, women, and happiness. they are taking over.

if you would like to support our cause please visit my website www.runnersarepricks.com any donations would be much appreciated or you can join our charity drive where we will be selling double fudge chocolate brownies door to door. your help will be greatly appreciated. this is a just a righteous cause and you should feel great about any contributions!

thankyou.

fair enough.

i have no problem with people who genuinely believe in a cause and use the run as a means to further it.

i do have a problem with people like my parents super rich friends who find some random cause and use it as a way to get fit and have something to talk about, and further their heads progression up their own arse.

they will forget the cause a week later yet they expect you to support them and recognize how fantastic they are... this rich bloated person living in some humongous house who throws out their old tv every time there is uhhh... (you know one of those days when you throw out furniture and stuff?)

this annoys me.

i think your missing the point of charity. the charity knows these sorts of people will enter the run but they don't care if they forget about the charity a week later. the charity has their money and can use it for good. it really shouldn't matter how the charity gets the money as long as it gets it and puts it to a good cause.
these people are still helping more than you are.

How is it pointless? You never mentioned any exceptions to your quoted statement there, how is he supposed to know that you consider money which is gathered under false pretenses to be an exception unless he asks?

oh and by the way on the 24th of April, we are having a world wide fun run! all participants from all over the world are to begin a run at 10:00am GMT. you can run for as long and far as you like! there is no specified direction or finish line. there is no training or short shorts required! everyone can participate!

it is important to ask friends and family to sponsor your run! they will certainly be IMPRESSED by your dedication to the cause. all sponsorships will go to bolstering our community and furthering the worlds awareness of the neo-ubermench (the runner) and their sinister philosophies of purity, discipline, achievement and division.

this is for a great cause!

thankyou.
