Grain LC vs MS

Just wondering, do you think it would be faster to get 12 PF tek Jars and 5 WBS and 5 Rye jars colonizing if i first inoculated an LC or did a Grain LC and injected them with that? Or do you think it time it would take would be roughly the same as doing an MS injection on all of them? just wondering...

MS will be faster.
MS>grains/cakes= about 4 weeks
MS>grains = about 4weeks + (MS)GLC>grains/cakes (about 3 weeks)= about 7 weeks
But with a GLC your future grows will be faster.

Completely agree on timing. But your GLC will be multi-spore "MS", not an isolate.

I generally only use LC to extend syringes or cultures that I purchase online. Obviously the fastest way is to take your pure culture source and directly inoculate the target substrate. No intermediate steps, just noc, colonize and fruit.
When cultivating, try not to think of each activity in terms of total time. Think how much time are you spending on each activity in terms of "actual" work. It can take 1 1/2 - 2 months to fruit mushroom depending. Now that's really only representative of a few hours of actual work on your part. The secret is overlap and setting yourself up.
How about getting two syringes. Use one directly, use the other to start a LC. Now forget about the LC until your done your present grow. By the time you get around to using it, you've just expanded you available culture by a factor of x20 or x40. It only took you 10 extra minutes. That's a lot of extra yield, in the end, for very little extra work.
The best thing you can do when getting started in this hobby is think of what groundwork you can lay now to set yourself up for your next grow.
Best of Luck!

Indeed! Sometimes my english betrays me I should have specified (MS)GLC. But who said it could be an isolate?

Just clarifying for everybody, that's all. MS gets used to mean "spore syringe", but most of us mean it as a description of genetics; multi-spore vs isolate.
