My first electronic songs... EVER (Ableton Live) Howd I do?

So, before you guys check these out, please realize that I've only used Ableton Live twice (today being the second time). I dabbled briefly with Garage Band several years ago at school (just using samples), but aside from that, the songs I'm about to post are my firsts. I don't know shit about the software yet. I haven't really tapped into my creative fire much either.

I've been playing the guitar casually on and off for the past few years, so I have some vague experience with the art of sound.

Let me know what you all think :stoned: Before you get to critical, remember... these were created with virtually no prior experience.

Also realize that I don't have a keyboard or anything. I had to use the keys on my computer to make these.

Here's my friends remix of Twilight on Mars. He's been using Reason for a few weeks now, so he's quite a bit more knowledgeable than I am ^^^^

Another ^^^

None of these are finished BTW. They feel like intros.

One more ^^^^

This one was made while intoxicated on zolpidem last night, along with the first one I posted.

The song "Vertigo" was made today on kratom.

There are three more short ones that I made last night. I'm not quite as proud of them. If you guys wanna hear, let me know and I'll convert/upload them.

So, for these songs I wasn't able to add as many tracks/layers as I wanted (limited to 5 for some reason), and I was using synthetic instruments seriously for the first time. I think I understand maybe like 5% of the program.

It's incredibly fun though, I want to stick with this.

Please, tell me these how these sound for a first attempt. Thanks

These sound more like trance than electro. Electro is typically more up-beat. These programs are hard to master. I tried them both for a bit but you really need to do online tutorials to fully understand them. I find FL Studio way easier to understand. The sounds FL can produce can be equally as good as Abbleton and Reason, it just depends on the plugins. I think it's a good start. Your clips sound like intros to me, and it's hard to tell if a song is good from just the intro. Post some longer clips. I'd like to see how the songs progress. Kudos to you though for attempting to do something on these complicated programs lol.

Thanks man, and yeah, they felt like intros to me. I just don't know enough yet to finish them.

BTW, when I say electric, I just mean fully synthesized, no physical instruments. In terms of genre, I guess these are more trance like, though eventually I feel like I'll be heading more towards something between electronica and alternative rock.

Eventually, when I have the money, I'm going to incorporate guitar and vocals, plus I'm going to purchase a keyboard (typing melody in on the computer feels extremely limiting).

I've got a lot of practicing to do though.

Thanks man  They're definitely very unfinished. I just introduced myself to advanced music software a few days ago, so I'm currently very limited in what I can do. I feel like I was only able to complete the intro to most of these. Right now I can't figure out how to have more than 5 MIDI tracks going.
