When you mist do it in a fine fog a foot over the FC into the air about 7-10 times and then look real close at the cakes and see if they have minute water droplets on the myc. If they all do the just fan a few times to exchange gases, that is what fanning is for, the SGFC should take care of the rest. Try doing what I said and putting a fan on them for a minute if you accidentally get them too wet. Wet cakes like the slow evaporation of the small water drops you leave on there.

hmmm I thought I followed it right I guess I just used too small a tub, but okay so I should tape up a bunch of the top holes? I was thinking of moving the terrarium more into the middle of the room rather than in a closet, think that would help?

Yes definitely don't use a closet unless you have to, you could move it to the closet for a while if someone was coming over.
The tek for building a SGFC calls for a certain size tub because he has been doin this by trial and error for 30 something years and he found the size tub and the hole spacing that worked the best.
Whe you use a smaller tub you would have to change the hole size and spacing to get the same result. The SGFC uses the negative pressure created by the holes in the top evaporating moisture through them to draw air through the bottom holes creating humidity as the air passes through the perlite and introducing more fresh air.
With your set up I think you are just circulating air in the top of your tub, IMHO I think toy should tape up every other hole on the sides, see if your humidity rises to at least 95%, if it does, take off a piece of tape every hour or so till the RH starts to drop again. If taping up half the holes doesn't raise the RH to 95%+ keep taping up holes that aren't near each other on the sides and top till your RH rises. Wait an hour or so after you tape a few holes for the humidity to level out so you can tell if you need more tape or need to start pulling tape off to see where your RH stays high with the max amount of holes.
OR you could tape every hole on the sides and most of the top ones for about an hour until your RH raises to 95%+, and then start removing tape from every other hole till the RH starts to drop and then you will know when to stop taking off tape. I would try the first way myself, tape half the side top holes and go look at the RH an hour later, who knows that might be enough.
