They did a mandatory beta for the Kunark release the other day and things are looking GOOD.

It's just like I remember it.  Gonna be such a fucking blast.

I've got a little gnome wizard on there.  Only level 4 because christ I forgot how long leveling takes in EQ.  The best part though? No bazaar.  The tunnel is back, bitches!  :awedance:

Yeah, your first character is gonna take awhile to get leveled up.  Once you get into the swing of it, though, it's a total blast.

They need to bring back Unreal 1.  I'm not an EQ fan, but I'll blow your ass to jibs if we play some Unreal.

Unreal Tournament '99 ? Oh yeah.
Although I would probably suck at it now a days. I remember getting my 3DFX Voodoo 3 card and watching that game light up in all it's glory.

Oh and load up the game and start a server, pretty easy to do. Probably riddled with cheats and hacks though. There are some servers still out there. I tried a few years back, just to laggy on the servers I found and crazy custom maps.

Omg, so random and weird that I would see this post lol...

I have played EQ on and off for awhile, always loving classic the most. Just found out about this recently, started a week or two ago. Send me a tell on server if any1 starts playing, lvl 17 mage here name is Jhoval

*edit* circularvortex, noticed you said you were from peace pipe, i've seen them around and talked to a few members in my short time playing, I remember seeing a recruitment message in EC saying something about smoking bowls. I would love to sign up and be a member of such an epic sounding guild

Wow I knew this guy in high school that did nothing but EQ all day.  He would build up a character and then sell a bunch of that shit on eBay.  That actually happens.

This shit is rough.. I made a barbarian warrior, attacked a sled dog, died, attacked a wolf, died, drowned and died, logged off.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus.
All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the
octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV.
But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns.
Also he got a race car.
Is any of this getting through to you?

Been playing on and off. Made a barbarian warrior on the main server named Gogork. Level 4 ATM. Hit me up sometime.

Dude! I have a character in Peace Pipe too, but I haven't played eqemu for a few months. I've been playing eq off and on since the beginning, and even though i can play free now I still play off and on. I just lose interest after a while and then eventually get back into it partly for the nostalgia factor.

One thing that kinda turned me off about this server in the past is the 1 character logged in per IP address rule. I get why they do it, and I have no problem with not multi-boxing, but my brother plays also with a different computer in the house. Because of their rule I can't play at the same time as him. Just kind of an inconvenience, especially since every single thing you want do takes more time on the classic server.

If you email them they will help you out.  My dad and brother both play together on the same IP.  They have to do some exception thing for you then it will work, but my bro says they'll watch to make sure you aren't boxing.

Hey, we should totally start a mushroom guild. We'll call it "The High Elves of Hyperspace" or something.

Yeah, theres a forum on the Project 1999 page specifically for this.

And starting a Mushroom Guild would be a little silly.  Peace Pipe is good shit, and we can actually raid.
