I feel I can laugh at anything, and often do. I laugh at myself a lot, more and more these days. I chuckle sometimes internally while meditating at my mind and the thoughts or memories it interjects - things I have never thought about since they happened, like high school swim class and other weird things.

I hope you see my ignorance and laugh, because at least I brightened your day up!
There are SOME jokes that are "too soon" but eventually everything becomes funny. Too soon jokes would be...at work, the day after the recent tsunami in Japan, I was working a Saturday morning. Working a Saturday morning is basically like one day a week, you just have to work a night shift (assuming you work in the day time normally) for me.
Well, we're having all these problems, and I'm getting all these phone calls. Eventually, it gets so bad I just say "man, I don't know when the pool will be open (I work at a hotel), we're having more problems then Japan right now."
Thankfully the guy laughed, but I think that's definitely a "too soon" joke.

just because you make a joke doesn't mean you don't care.
what makes it too soon? when is it okay?
why can't you immediately make a joke? is it because you have to stay wary of self righteous douchebags who will put you down to feel morally superior?

Because everyone takes everything so personally. I know its all bullshit. I know I shouldn't have to wait, but I do, even though I personally never get offended I also have a completely different mindset than these brickwalls that walk around us. I sit quietly in my head because it never ends well whenever you offend a talking brick wall.
