2 spores 1 bin
    #14119827 - 03/14/11 03:01 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

So i've chosen 2 spore strains that i ordered to my house just 12cc syringes. My question is basically this: After colonization and what have you is it safe to grow the two different strains in the same bin?

Yes it's safe. But I suggest you to read more. Start from here.

What do you mean in the same bin? If you mean putting pf cakes of different strains together in the same fruiting chamber than thats fine.

If you mean spawning two types to bulk in the same tub like a mono then no!

They'll just fight each other for the substrate and you'll get shitty yields.

Mushrooms do not fight for nutrients. They are not like humans. You can spawn two different "strains" to a bulk sub with no problems at all. But you will not be able to put a label on your prints.

Sorry i was thinking about two different species in the same tub, which i reckon would turn out poorly.
But if there strains of the same species I guess it will be fine.
But why would you want to do that?

Good to know! I just remember reading somewhere that one strain may dominate the substrate and lead to poor crops but as always with the shroomery i learn abit more everyday
