For your first I would recommend T. Pachnoi. It has Lower concentrations and a nice mix of psychoactive chemicals. I know T. Peruvianus has higher alkaloidel content but I would start slow to get to know the feeling and spirit of mescalito. Haven't really had experience with L. Diffusa. The most important thing is to respect the maestros de plantas . If you have the mescalito in you're system for awhile along with a good diet it may teach you things you never thought possible. If you don't beleive in spirits or other entities than at least respect the cactus and have good intentions. These cacti and plants are sacred and should be used as such. remember this line. Anyone may come and play, but without good intentions, sooner or later one must pay.

i would say i would go with panchoi but from what i hear san pedros mesc. content can vary greatly from cactus to cactus. peruvians are supposed to be more steady in their alkaloid and mescaline content. as for the respect, you don't need to tell me. i felt terrible about even chopping off a portion of the cactus to eat it. i'm preparing myself for the trip by continuing my meditation for a month beforehand, and i have various psychoactive cacti growing in my house. i'm learning about mescalito from don juan's book. trust me, i'm not some shmuck looking for a "fun trip" i'm looking for a rich spiritual and insightful journey. i was simply asking for advice on which i should pick for a regulated amount of alkaloids and mescaline so that i may share the experience with someone else very close to me who i trust greatly. i wouldn't like to prepare a san pedro cactus for myself, have a much more powerful trip than my partner, and wind up not being on the same level as him. i apollogize if i seem hostile but it seems to me that you're telling me i disrepect the cactus and don't understand how serious of a matter this is. all plants, are highly respected by me. in fact, i am in the process of becoming a botanist.

Sorry no I wasn't I tell everybody this cause I was introduced to these substances in the wrong way. I myself didn't recognize the spiritual value of LSD or mushrooms until 2 years into my use. Of psychedelics. I'm very glad to hear you have the right intentions. Have an amazing experience. May wakantaka or whatever you believe in guide you.

I think you mean L. Williamsii, for that is the psychoactive peyote. However you need a few buttons, and these are hard to come by, not to mention a threatened, extremely slow-growing species.
I personally haven't tried Loph, only Pachanoi aka San Pedro - and it is a subtle but very beautiful and revealing trip, an excellent way to meet the Mescalito, introduce yourself, and pick up on hints.
I haven't tried Peruvianus either but it is meant to be a little stronger in terms of alkaloidal content.
Each different species will have it's own way of teaching. Pachanoi will provide a fantastic introductory lesson.
Good Vibes, and In Plants We Trust.

well, diffusa is the legal one, you're right though. thats why i was asking though, i live in new england and its not like i can go on a peyote hike or anything... not that i would at all feel comfortable with it. taking from nature is never a good thing, especially now that the plant is endangered. .... anyway i wonder what the trip will be like, as you said each plant is different. but i assume the presence of mescalito is in each, who knows though. i would sure love to meet the presence, i guess i'll find out when the time comes.
