Starting Monotub Questions

So I've been going by this thread to start this out and I just had a few questions I'm trying to get cleared up http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8294256
1) Does the size of the tub matter? Considering different sizes would have different substrate depths, I wasn't sure how important this was?
2) For the WBS jars I was using http://www.shroomery.org/9030/Docs-Wild-Bird-Seed-Tek and as far as colonization goes, should I basically allow the jars to colonize in a dark place, then when I mix it with the substrate should I put the tub in a dark place as well until the substrate is completely colonized?
3) While mixing the substrate and WBS what is the risk of contamination? Should I be very careful or since the WBS is already colonized is the risk lower? Just wanted to be careful with this part to make sure I don't screw anything up.
4) Lastly what should I do for FAE and humidity? I have an overhead fan I always leave on that gives a nice draft through the room, would that be enough ontop of the holes stuffed with polyfill for FAE? For humidity should I just mist the substrate a few times a day?
Sorry if these questions are dumb, this is my first time with something other than BRF cakes and I always like to make sure I know exactly what I'm doing before I jump into it so I don't mess up lol. Thanks

Oops one more question... IDK if I missed this or what, but how many jars of WBS would you use in one tub? In the picture there is a few jars, but it doesn't really say how much to pour in with the coconut coir substrate.

you can use whatever ratio's you prefer, i like 1:3 or 1:4, so 3 or 4 quarts of coir for every quart of grain...

2leave your jars out in ambient day light to colonize.

Wait, so they should be in the daylight? I was always under the impression colonization was to be left in the dark?

1. no, it doesn't really matter so long as you drill enough holes for adequate GE and then FAE. a total of 6-8 holes 1.5" holes should be enough.
2. moisture (proper grain prep) and temperature ~75F (some people prefer as low as 60-65F) are most important. ambient or indirect light is beneficial in all stages of the life cycle.
3. read up on proper pasteurization techniques, and with 100% colonized grain, you should have no problems. this is not to say sneezing on your substrate or playing with your dog before you spawn is a good idea. still be as clean as possible.
4. the overhead fan may be too much FAE and dry out the substrate. just check it once a day or every other day and, if necessary, turn the fan off.
you don't need to mist until you are in fruiting mode. this is after your spawn colonizes the substrate in 7-10 days from spawning. after each indirect misting of the fruiting chamber, manually fan to assist in evaporating the moisture from the substrate = a key pinning initiator.
sounds like you are on the right track. good luck!

What kind of drill bit does 1.5" holes? Would that be like the diamond that people use on glass? Could I find one of these at home depot?
