Humidity Concerns

Hi guys (and girls if they exists on the internet),
I am preparing a fruiting chamber in anticipation of my first harvest. I have chosen to construct a simple SGFC, as it is cheap, easy, and cheap.Construction is easy enough, but the main issue is humidity.
The room that is going to be housing the SGFC is extremely dry.I am worried that I will not be able to keep up decent RH levels even with regular misting.
Being pretty certain that this may be an issue, I am thinking of buying a small humidifier to balance out humidity levels outside of the FC.
Would this approach be helpful to any degree?
Thanks!

Your chamber should be fine. Soak the perlite, drain it, and keep misting it as much as possible each day. If your really worried about it, then get the humidifier.. But its not needed.

I have an exotic snake in a terrarium, and I know that keeping the humidity levels right in her cage is a downright pain in the ass. My concerns with her cage have spread to my other hobbies.
What my real question is, is weather or not having a humidifier in my room would make difference for the FC, keeping it humid with out the need for too much misting.

Well im sure you dont use perlite in your snakes cage. Perlite will work wonders with your SGFC, as long as you build it correctly.
Im sure having a humidifier wont hurt a thing tho. so go for it

Get a timer, a fish tank air pump with an air stone & a glass of water should cover FAE as well as RH. Just a thought.

Good point.
Speaking of correct a correct build, what size holes should I be drilling into the fruiting chamber? I have a drill bit for plastic, but I think it may be too large...

This was my original plan, but I decided to go with an easier method for my first grow. Experimentation with self automated chambers will start when I move to my new house, and am forced to hide these operations a bit further away from alot of fresh air.

I actually own that DVD, but I guess I spaced out on the part for the 1/4th drill bit. Thanks!

yes sir.
Why dont you drill some holes, and fill the thing up with perlite and see what you can get it at. If the rh is low, then maybe think about getting a humidifier.

Goodluck.
