HEllo, sorry i have no pics but i will give you a detailed discription of the mushroom i found. Here we go

Habitat- growing in spagnum moss with buried decomposed wood in a marshy area between two streams.

Stem- ranged from 30-60mm long, hallow, thin, slightly bulging out at the base with a light blue color at the base, some mycecelium(spelling?) on the base of the stem

Gills- Subdistant, I only found mature ones and the all had rusty brownish gills

Spore print- Rusty brown/cinnamon

Cap- 8-11mm wide, hygrophanous color, drying to be a dull tan color

You think this is Conocybe Smithii?

It's possible. Your description is reasonably similar. You didn't mention the color of the stem other than the blue bruising. Note that Smith says the main difference between Conocybe cyanopus and Conocybe smithii is that C. smithii has subcapitate cheilocystidia.

There is an obvious concern that it could be a Galerina, given the rusty spore print. Also, Conocybe includes a deadly poisonous mushroom which contains amatoxins. Unless you can use a microscope to verify some additional characteristics you probably shouldn't eat them.

Nice description, and interesting specimens.

Happy mushrooming!

I am going to wait for the night tme temps come back up a little bit since have had a little cold snap over these past couple of days and i will have my friend come out with his camera.

WE really need a picture of the shroom. I can id them for you but a picture is necessary. As for the deadly COnocybe it does not look like C. cyanopus, and it has a ring ont he stem .

The conocybe smithii has a clear watery like stem.

THe description you gave sounds similar to one form a book.

Please take a camera. If it is them there are a lot inthe places where they grow. April and May are good months for finding them.
