Fucking love Animals though, Dogs is my favorite, though the ending of Sheep also pleases me disproportionately.

While I respect and love the older artists, I certainly don't believe that the days of passion are gone. Sure, if you flip through commercial radio stations it's unlikely you'll find anything that will melt your soul. But it's out there. It might just take a little more digging to find these days.
I could list off a bunch of course, but everyone's tastes are so different that it's unlikely I could post anything that would make you say "Yeah, this is great, ShockValue is right!", but I stand by my statement.

Music is as good as it ever was, maybe better because there is so much more variety now... but it does take quite a chunk of your time to effectively hunt the good artists down.

I have not heard any good modern blues-rock bands. Can anyone recommend me some? That would be so sick if I can find some good stuff, like Jimi, Stevie, Zeppelin, Clapton style. Just hardcore blues rock.

Music is passionless if you have no idea where to look.
I know there is too much music filled with passion for me to ever listen to.

There's just as much passion in music today as there ever was.
Back in their heyday, bands like Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience were mostly underground for a long time. A lot of people have an illusion that such bands were plentiful in their time, but the fact is record companies right now are mass-promoting manufactured music that is guaranteed to appeal to the masses instead of taking their chances trying to promote newer ones. All those great bands are cataloged and their music is easy to find, and all the pop bullshit from back then has been forgotten.
Which is what they've always done.
Excuse me if I'm babbling, I'm still amped from the coffee.

thats blasphemy
pfxtc's heirarchy of floyd albums:
dsotm - > piper - > meddle (echoes is the best song ever written, not just by pink floyd, but ever) - > wish you were here - > animals
