If they don't yet have switchblades at Hot Topic, they should. There's obviously a market.

so i am looking/thinking to "obtain"/purchase a Switchblade or a Stiletto knife. i kno the legislation in my state concerning knives lets not talk about that i want something for very quick release im talking push button spring action not those poseur things where the knife flips outward and open i dont like them i will be stabbed before i can figure out how to get the thing open.
switchblades are a bad idea. most places theyre illegal and even if you are in a place where its legal to buy one its absolutely illegal to carry them. if you get caught with it the cops will think you're "rollin" with one of those "sets" in your 'hood. i also live in a not so great neighborhood and i have whats known as a "spring assisted" knife that is practically my second penis. its the smith and wesson black ops.
i highly reccomend any smith and wesson product (like my ar-15, homeland security, black ops, s.o.r.t, swat, etc knifes) but especially this knife. dont let the price bother you. you can easily find one for $40-50, and thats not even a good deal. i got mine for 36. in the business of weaponry the old saying, "you get what you pay for" is really very true. ex. you can but any hunting rifle at walmart for $400, but you cant get a barrett for less than $8000 (thats without a mount tripod or scope.
so, here's the point. you wanna kill a deer? go buy a remington at walmart. it'll last ten years and more hunting trips then you'll remember. want to be a marksman? buy a barrett. it'll last you a lifetime and never break down. you wanna cut some rope? buy a switchblade. wanna protect yourself? buy a smith and wesson that will fit your needs. it'll last a lifetime (unless you loose it) never go dull (unless you like to slice tin cans) and you'll always love it, like i love mine. another thought. gang members usually talk big but won't do shit unless they have a firearm. just a warning...

I have guns, they're legal and they've not destroyed my life or anyone elses, neither have the vast majority of the 600 million other legally owned guns out there... seems to me your objection is strictly a moral one because you simply dont like the idea of guns... guess what, knives, swords, stick, cars, everything we come in contact with can be lethal, if you really wanted to, you could kill man with a Popsicle stick
I spent 8 years in the army, I've seen first hand the devastation of combat, I've seen the lives ruined by people, not the guns, the gun is no more than a tool and with out them the men would still have found a way to do what they wanted to achieve their goals

I'll second this
I've grown up with guns and known many many many gun owners
no deaths, not a single shot on a human

I cant say the same, I know several people that are in prison for murder, my father spent 3 years in for a contract killing, within a few days of that my mother almost shot him in self defense, had it not been for the gun in her purse, Id have witnessed my mother's murder at my fathers hands
while they can be used for bad, they're more often used to protect life or just for sport

Your family sounds like mine.
My dad once shot up our house and our neighbors with a fully auto AK. He'd have gone to jail for a very long time if he hadn't died a few months latter.

I would go with a spring assisted if your gonna be carrying it around with you. If you get busted with a real switchblade your gonna catch a illegal weapons charge on top of a concealed on depending on where you live, and im pretty sure a illegal weapons charge is a felony in america correct me if im wrong. Plus a spring assisted opens just as fast as a real switchblade.

Actually, I know of one family with two gun suicides
not sure of the time frame, I'd estimate 20 years and more for both, but I consider suicide available by many options
On the positive side, I know one fuckwit junkie that decided against addiction/slinging an unregistered gun
it makes me incredibly happy, because seeing this addict carry a loaded, unregistered, firearm into my house on one occasion made me very, very uneasy

I'd love to have one of these, but sadly I can't think of any reasonable excuse to buy one.
I tried carrying one of these for a while, but found that it wasn't as affective as I'd hoped.

fuck, manufacturing/carrying a zip gun is easy enough
personally, I'd rather lose $100 then have to deal with the associated legal consequences of fucking up a human beyond repair
there're always exceptions, though
