Oh and I'm quite sure Leffe is not a wheat beer.
That flavour is from yeast not wheat malt. The two are often confused.

Oh shit, you're right. It's crazy, because Leffe tastes wheatier than wheat beers.
It's still my favorite.

I personally found this to be the most revolting beer I had ever tasted.
I'm not shy about sour beers either. Around the same time as I had this I was drinking Cantillon, Rodenbach, and home-brewed lambic beers and enjoying them all. I even liked the uncarbonated, unblended, vin du cereale from Rodenbach.
However I thought the Oud Beersel was truly foul, and something I would never drink again.
i disagree but i understand where youre coming from.
this one in particular can definitely take you by surprise. its really not like a beer at all.. it tastes more like a champagne than anything else.

for cheap beer you gotta go with PBR, seriously that shit is pretty damn good (compared to coors, bud, michelob, etc) IMO
other than that I like fat tire, blue moon, shock top, and amber bock which are all awesome from tap.
The best beers I've ever had though were all belgian, the french stuff is pretty good, the irish stuff is pretty good, but the belgian stuff is heavenly. Oh and it all tastes better in canada where they have higher alcohol content

This is my everyday beer. Cheap, full and great flavor. Its the oldest brewery still in use in america(they say) but the local bars sell it as an import at import prices. The brewery is in PA.

Id also agree about the PBR if your going cheap and want to actually enjoy it(not just to get drunk) then PBR is the only way to go. All the other stuff is disgusting. I went from thinking beer was gross(light beer) to a fan of beer.

If I am going to drink cheap american beer I stick with keystone/coors light. Just last week I thought fuck it and bought a 40 of PBR, I dumped the last 3rd out. To fizzy, eh not my thing.
Can't really say I have a favorite beer though. Just to many good ones that demand to be drank in different circumstances. I am a sucker for IPA's(not the super duper hoppy ones), Reds, ESB's, Porters and Stouts. I try and stay away from ones that are 8% or more unless it is just 1 22oz.

four loko tastes like SHIT, but 12% alc...it's like 4 beers in 1 can. Personally, I'd rather drink miller lite than four loko. Miller lite tastes like piss

I wish I could try some american microbrews. But in ontario the liquor store is goverment run. and when they do special imports there is sometimes over 100$ in fees.

Michelob is actually an all malt brand, and is made with better ingredients than PBR.
It is noticeably better than most other blonde American Macro-brews.
Also I've had very strong beers in America. The Goose Island Bourbon County Stout is 13% ABV. I think this "Canadian beer has a higher %" thing is really just a myth.

Is this the "what's the fanciest and rarest beer you can find" thread? Or is it the "what's your favorite beer to actually drink" thread?

I agree.
And I have never bought a beer based solely on the ABV.. if it tastes good it tastes good.
One of the big reasons I'm not generally a fan of microbrews is cause everyone has a gimmick.. "We have the most hops, highest alcohol %, chocolate, artichokes, etc, etc.."
I feel like a lot of microbrews get caught up in this idiotic race for the best gimmick. Just make a good beer and people will drink it.. Its not that complicated.
I usually drinking Belgian or Irish beers.. They keep it simple.
