Mccormick Gourmet Poppy Seeds and White Indian Poppy Seeds.....worth it?

Just trying to avoid the hassles of online ordering to see If i can source a good poppy seed variety locally. I have heard from several other threads (yes i used the fucking search) on this forum and others that McCormick's "gourmet" selection of poppies is a potent tazzy strain. Is this true? Has anyone here had good luck with the Mcgourmets?
Also I was thinking about Indian grocery store variety of white poppy seeds. Clearly these are some somniferum var. album and not nigrum from the seed color, so Im thinking definitely good for medicinal quality?
If anyone has had growing experience (pics'd be nice) with either strain please let me know.

grow them all out man
yea the mc cormicks will be somni's but their quality levels arent as top notch as some other varieties. if it were me, id go with an ethnovendor. poppy seedfs arouse no suspiscion whatsoever. then again if its your first time, and u wanna cut back on some hassles, then go with the spice seeds. they are viable.
the indian seeds? i dont have much to say about that. never had too muchy exp with those. tho hey buddy they might be somni's too. theres sooo many varieties of somni's out there, and just because something is called,"indian white." doesnt mean its inferior to other strains. it might actually be the bomb. try it out man, whats there to loose but garden space right???
happy growing dude

thanks for the advice. I would go to an ethnovendor but I would want either Taz's or Peshwar/India White which is what these spice rack seeds potentially could be. 100g of seeds was 3 bucks for the Indians. that's hella cheap esp if they are the fast flowering, heat-resistant variety of somniferum that hails from India. 100 grams is thousands of seeds.
I actually did a bit of research and it seems like the McGourmets (mccormick gourmet collection) are a fast growing high germination rate strain from holland that appears to be taz genetics from the picture of the flowers on the bottle.
I looked up the region that the Indian seeds were imported from, and they were packaged in Gujarat, an area in the north of India close to the Pakistani border known for its licensed opium production. These culinary white seeds are fitting of the appearance of var. album seeds and very cheap. Im giving both a shot since Im growing a ton of other vegetables and flowers this spring anyway.
Appreciate the encouragement.

damn the McCormick Gourmets germinated almost overnight.
They are about as far along, if not further than the Hungarian Blues that have been germinating for about 4 days now. freaky fast. Indian White seed is not nearly as fast as the corms, they aren't even popping yet. poppies are supposed to take 7-14 days so I'm not rushing it.

Those McCormick's seeds sure do germinate fast. Then they take their sweet time maturing after that, at least thats been my experience so far.

yeah its a long flowering variety that grows tall and gets multiple heads. i hear about 100 days.
The indian is a 60-70 day and flowers much earlier but grows smaller. Im hoping that the culinary seeds are viable.

Papaver somniferum [Re: Jufin]

I got my poppy seeds from the Netherlands. All it says is Papaver somniferum. I don't know what variety, but I plan to sow the seeds this early fall on my small farm. They will make it through winter, I was told from sacredsucculents, and then they will bloom in late spring. Does anyone out there have experience with this plant. How does one harvest the extract from the pods?
