if you dont already own the dremel I'd suggest a normal, small drill press,
it's about the same amount of money and has sufficient torque to do anything
you need, every dremel I've ever used was crap, they had no power

a regualr small drill press will have variable speeds, from around 300rpm to
3000rpm, the problem with a dremel is the torque, a real drill press is
capable of far more than the dremel

the wall mart special cordless for 20$ is sweet and handy, but only second to a powerful drill press as prisoner mentioned. i like my weak cordless for its handy, portable use, and when the batt dies out give that 4.8v dremil a 9v 2a wall wart and she'll scream a few more rpm' and power.
