Switchblade / Stiletto anyone familiar with Knives?

lately i have been feeling very bad vibes in "my hood". i live in the ghett incase u didnt kno i jus learned there is a "turf war" between a few blocks or "sets" if u will today somebody face was just slashes up with a knife police were all over my block just now
i never like weapons but i really do not feel safe walking around here alone. i am anti-firearm so i am looking/thinking to "obtain"/purchase a Switchblade or a Stiletto knife. i kno the legislation in my state concerning knives lets not talk about that i want something for very quick release im talking push button spring action not those poseur things where the knife flips outward and open i dont like them i will be stabbed before i can figure out how to get the thing open.
im sure theres a knife collector around here somewhere. does anyone know any trusted online sources? that are decent quality & affordable?? i believe all knives are illegal to carry in my state, which could pose a problem with shipping but i kno theres usually ways around that,i.e. discrete packaging etc.. and i think they are only illegal if u carry them outside of the house so people can collect them and have them as a novelty.

Now a Question for the Knife Experts i am looking for a specific knife it is more like a poker. it looks like a metal tube (there are other looks) instead of a blade it has a stabbing point that is retracts back into the tube it is push button/spring loaded so when u push the button the Point/Poker Shoots out and stabs
can anyone help me with what this is? can anyone identify? post pics

Ive found real ones (double sided full action) but theyre only available on the black market. I think someone smuggled em in. I used to have a black one and a pink one that were both double sided and matched.

Get a thing of mace/pepper spray. If you're anti gun and generally not into weapons, there's a good chance you'll either be too afraid to use it when you need to, or end up pulling it out and having the guy take it away from you and get killed with your own knife.
Get mace.

If you live in the real ghetto a knife won't mean shit. Most gangbangers ALWAYS carry heat, and most generally carry a large knife too (or brass knuckles/any other deadly weapon)

You are so going to get shot. Having a knife isn't useful in a gun fight, and if they are robbing you at knife point, good luck getting a legal knife out quick enough-let alone being skilled enough to get the enemy before being stabbed critically first.

a weapon is a weapon and proper attention being payed to your surroundings means if shit gets shady you have a blade out already....

I'd be scared to pull a knife out. I always hear of people that end up getting stabbed to death by their own knife and shit like that.

thats why you find someone else in your area interested in knife fighting and get training (rubber) knives and work on your abilities... just like anything else it's practice practice practice...
but yea, i wouldnt recommend pulling out ANY weapon without a reasonable idea of how to use it.

I lived in the hood for a little while in my early 20's, cheap rent, and I knew some gang members, they sold my roommate weed all the time. They were cool to us punk rockers.
Generally what I've found to be the case, is that real gang members typically don't have any interest in robbing or hurting regular civilians. I was at a party once where this gang member was hanging out that liked the punk rock guys, and I was going to the beer store, he asked me to get him a 40oz of Steel Reserve, and pulled out a wad of money which had to be over 5 grand, handed me a 50$ bill, and said here, get like 4 of them, keep the change.
They have no interest in robbing people, which would bring less money than drug dealing, bring unwanted attention by the neighborhood and police, and potentially disrupt their client base.
The people who rob people in the ghetto are thugs and junkies and petty criminals, not "Real Gang members".

Get some pepper spray, or even better get a taser. I've seen these taser wands. They look like clubs and they pack 10k volts. You just walk around with it in your hand and nobody will fuck with you. And if they do... Then you fuck them up. If you do a google search, you can find a whole range of tasers. But, if you want a switchblade/stileto, you can find them at gun shows. I always see tons of cool knives at gun shows. Good luck

As people have mentioned, if you're not willing to use the knife don't get it. A lot of people don't know how to even use them (myself included). Why are you anti-gun?

In your case, I really would recommend mace instead. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I question whether or not you have the confidence to stab someone in a snap decision. That's what you really need to consider here. A knife is not a magic wand which keeps you safe. It is a small sharp object which can cut a person's stomach open and kill them. If you carry a knife, that's what you're signing up for, should the shit really hit the fan. Mace will put a person on the ground, unless they're on fucking PCP or something (in which case, good luck with the knife, as well). Mace works. I'd recommend it.

Mace can end up in the user's eyes as well especially if there is wind. Taser is the way to go.
