Questions: Isolates and Outdoor Patches

Hey folks,
Spring is here. I am looking into my summer plans and I like many others have some questions. I would like to try some isolates from agar in an outdoor grow setting.
When sectoring on agar plates what sorts of "strains" would you want to select for an outdoor grow -the most rhizomorphic and hyphal? Which sorts of "strains" would be best suited for an outdoor setting -would they be same strains selected for an indoor environment? Temperatures would fluctuate from 60-85F during the period I was planning. I will be doing the sort of outdoor grow as represented in the link found in my signature.
Here is a picture from last years patch. I had a fair amount of success.

I will be using fully colonized/consolidated trays which will be buried slightly in the earth, cased in 50/50 peat/verm (with hydrated lime), and covered with grass clippings. They will be watered once to twice daily.
Would I need to pasteurize the 50/50 peat/verm (with hydrated lime) casing if will be used directly outdoors? I figure I want to try the casing, because it will help provide moisture for the tray. Maybe I shouldn't use this sort of casing, but I think it will provide more of a moisture buffer than exclusively plain grass clippings.
I want to try a 1:1 spawn to substrate ratio in my trays. Would this be advisable for an outdoor tray? Would I want more substrate to provide more moisture, especially in an outdoor environment?
I think I want to try simply coir, verm and gypsum for my tray substrate for reasons regarding contaminant susceptibility and ease of pasteurization with the boiling water method. Should I consider adding high nutrient amendments (earth worm casings, etc.) given that contamination will only be an issue during colonization, not during fruiting?
I know a lot of these are specific questions that many won't have an answer to. In fact, some of these may only be answered through personal experience.
Thanks for your help.
M

choose the strain out of your agar dish that you know will fruit best in ~80 degree weather.
also choose some mycelium that looks like it has a higher tolerance for less humidity.
lol.....

Would it be best to go with MS for outdoors? Would selecting and transferring a few fast growing rhizomorphic sectors be advisable for outdoor?
I would think that MS would provide a greater genetic diversity, which may be a good thing considering the variable conditions outdoors. I could then attempt cloning from those fruits that successfully grew outdoors. Would an isolate be a larger gamble for an outdoor grow? I don't want to isolate a strain of non-fruiting mycellium.
