1. Are these 3 things (excluding spores/syringe) enough to start growing? (PF Tek method, no pressure cooker, no need for temperature modifiers) http://www.amazon.com/Good-Earth-Organics-Vermiculite-16002/dp/B001693Y3Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299971110&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Jarden-Home-Brands-Mouth-Canning/dp/B0000BYD0F/ref=pd_bxgy_k_text_b http://www.amazon.com/Bobs-Red-Mill-24-Ounce-Packages/dp/B000EDDS3O/ref=pd_bxgy_k_text_c
2. What's better for sterilization: isopropyl alcohol or bleach?
3. When transferring from a jar to the fruiting chamber, can I just directly slide it in (so it'll be upside down)? Or do I have to take it out and put it in there the same way it was standing in the jar?

1) yes
2) Did you mean sanitizing the area?
3) You will dunk and roll first before putting them in the fruiting chamber. I like to put it in the chamber with the former dry verm layer right side up. I'm just anal though. My theory is: After you roll in the dry verm there will be more verm on the former top due to the dry verm that gets stuck to the cake during colonization. So I want it on the top to get it more fresh air because molds and shit hate fresh air.......Im anal though, probably not necessary...
-------------------- The mushrooms, which grow only during the season of torrential rains, awaken the forces of creation and produce an experience of spiritual abundance, of an astonishing, inexhaustible constitution of forms that identifies them with fertility and makes them a mediation, a means of communion, of communication between man and the natural world of which they are the metaphysical flesh.

Yes I meant sanitizing the area.
Also, the guide I'm using mentions nothing about dunking/rolling before fruiting. Are you sure it's necessary? (It's my first time, I just want to make sure they grow right before improvising) http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek

Here is a better place. Mushroomvideos.com Watch the PF tek there in a video, I think it is 5 parts. It is important that after the jars are 100% colonized (all of the outside is 100% covered in white) that you let the jars sit for about a week to give the mycelium (white stuff) a chance to consume more food and take a better hold on the substrate. This will make for healthier fruits and a better pin set in the long run. By the time that week is up the mycelium will have used alot of the water and must be re-hydrated before you put them in the fruiting chamber.....Rolling in the verm will help hold moisture and provide a nice microclimate for the formation of mushrooms..

The hippie looking dude (No offense Rabbit) in the video is RogerRabbit. He is a member/moderator/god of mushroom cultivation on this website. If you ever need any info on ANY subject just go to the search feature and search the mushroom cultivation forums. Type your search subject in the first box. Then under that, type in RogerRabbit for the specific member posts. Then read like 20 of his posts. It's better than any book or video you can watch......honestly...Thats how I learned.

Not sure.....try using the search and type in "spores california" and read up. I've heard people making PO boxes the next state over and then going to pick them up. But I've never had a PO box so I'm not familiar with them....

Sporeworks ships in a USPS flat rate box, with a return address of "The Works", plus there address. Pretty plain, but a little higher in price. Mention ur a member of shroomery.org & get a free syringe of thier choice.

I live in CA and I'm also trying to acquire a print. I sent a letter to the FSRE so hopefully I'll get a nice print to my PO Box sometime in the few weeks. Also, it's only about 3$.
In the mean time I'm pretty sure I found some P. Cinctulus in a lawn today. They're printing at the moment, and if they are then I'm going to practice with them first, even though they sound a lot more picky than cubes. I don't want to mess up the real thing.
