That seems backwards- small growers can slack, but as you go up in size, small differences become big.
A 5% difference in yield from a couple cakes isn't much. 5% of a dozen monotubs could be a considerable amount.

It is all about time management. My monos aren't the only thing I have going on. I can't spend all day casing 30 large monos and deal with all the other stuff I am trying to juggle. It isn't required with cubes  anyway so I don't bother. I have plenty of fresh fruit on hand at all times. More than you would ever need, so I am really not that worried about the difference. Not that is that much anyway, I know how to milk my substrate without a casing. I have a couple PE strains that are ridiculous. They literally rape the substrate, they definitely don't need casings.

what about scratching  a matted sub surface...seem to help my 2nd flush  on the cased sub
