Yes, it will go bad after a day or two if not properly stored.

You really need to get one of those rubber air-sucker stopper things that keeps wine fresh for longer - but even with that you will notice the difference in taste after 4-5 days, and a few days after that it will be vinegar.

Putting it in the fridge will keep it for a week probably, but you'll lose all the carbonation in the beer.

I want to know how big this bottle is that you can't finish it in one sitting, while it's still enough to help you sleep?

i kno regular wine(10%) will turn to VIN(wine)ager(sour)
ideally i want  to store this strong(%10) canDONIAN beer(1.18Liters)
in 4 smaller  bttls
(concealed in malox bttls-likeIsaid,dont ask)
without it going bad
(i dont care aboot taste-just alc % NO VINEGAR)
i need a real &serious answer
n plz dont ask why im doing this
if i can seperate &store it
i wont chug it because im worried itll go bad
n can use it responsibly, only when im in horrible pain or havnt slept for months

I don't think 1.18 liter bottles are best suited for your situation.  Get some 12 oz bottles.

Nothing you do will keep wine/beer fresh for months after breaking the seal, unless you suck the air out of it like 12 times a day maybe...

And putting alcohol into plastic is only going to make it degrade faster.

You can't store it in the fridge (because of what I'm not supposed to ask about), and I assume you aren't going to go out and buy a wine-stopper and air-sucker thing.. so...

My advice to you is to buy smaller bottles next time

Alcohol doesn't turn into vinegar for no reason.  It happens because airborne bacteria gets into the beer, and ferments it.  Sucking air out won't get rid of the bacteria that's already in the bottle.

alcohol does turn into vinegar if let to sit.  Kinda cool how it does it.  If you drink it, it turns into vinegar too, but by a different route.

Duh, but sucking the air out means less airborne bacteria

No, it doesn't work like that.  The bacteria is in the air outside the bottle.  When you open the bottle, the bacteria gets into the bottle, and settles in actual beer.

Are you trying to troll me with your Captain Obvious statements?

My statements still stand true.  If you suck the air out of the bottle, it will last longer.  If you put it in the fridge, it will last longer.  Probably not going to last more than a week, because of the obvious - bacteria gets in the bottle after you open it the first time.

I have years of experience in the restaurant business.  If you are going to tell me, "It doesn't work like that" after I state that sucking air out of the bottle will make it last longer, then I don't know what to say to you...?

It's just not possible with beer, OP.  Honestly you're better off acquiring some liquor because that'll keep much longer.

Doesn't alcohol technically reduce your recuperative sleep?  I mean it may help put you to sleep but you get less rest because the brain doesn't enter the recuperative stages (4 & 5) of sleep.  Something to ponder I guess.

if you don't, it's alcohol abuse...

What's the beer? If it's shit, then don't feel bad. If it's something good, I'll haunt your dreams if you waste it.

Well, you suggested that that sucking the air out 12 times a day would allow the beer to last more than a few months.  That's bullshit.  The bacteria that has already settled in the beer won't come out, whether you suck the air out one time or 100 times.  Now you're changing your story to "no more than a week."  I'm the troll?
